This hotel has been closed for some time now. The location has a Walgreen's Drug Store at the present time.

Old but nice.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/29/07
After booking online I had read some bad reviews of this place and got a little nervous. When we showed up, it turned out to be a pleasant place to stay. It was old but had nice furniture, and was spacious, and economical. We also enjoyed having the sandpiper restaurant right outside our door.

Not going back - thank goodness!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/9/07
I had reserved four rooms for WSU graduation. I willingly agreed to the two-night minimum requirement. The week before, I reserved a fifth room which was confirmed by voice mail from the manager. When we arrived, I was told that they had let that fifth room go. Their only response to my concern about re-arranging family accomodations was, "Well, we didn't charge your VISA card." One person was able to sleep on a sofa bed in our room - cheap couch, thin mattress...but a place to lie. However, there was no pillow for her to use. (They were on back-order.) We had only two very thin towels in the bathroom, and had to ask both days for extra - we were given one extra - that's it. The rooms were run down, had dirty carpeting, and filthy grounds (cigarette butts everywhere - probably because the ashcans by every door were full). In our room, the toilet ran constantly and the heater worked intermittently. Other rooms had their own set of issues. The continental breakfast consisted of fruit loops and coffee, which wouldn't have been so bad if they hadn't touted their breakfast. I would NOT EVERY STAY THERE AGAIN.

very poor service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/24/07
I stayed at the Mark IV about a month ago. After leaving the hotel I saw that I was charged an additional 50 dollars. I called and spoke to the manager; she first accused me, a non-smoker, of smoking in the room. I explained that I am not a smoker and asked if she could reverse the transaction. She kept arguing with me, and telling me that I was the one who was smoking in the room. The manager realized after a while that I was not the person who was smoking in the room, but apparently the person who took some items from the room which I stayed. I explained, to the rude and argumentative woman, that I did not take anything from the room. I asked her if she would reverse the transaction. At this point in the conversation the manager was yelling. She screamed "NO", and hung up on me! After experiencing this kind of attitude from management, my friends, neither family, nor I will ever stay at the Mark IV motor inn, in Moscow Idaho! Accusing and embarrassing your customers is not proper customer service! I can see why the Mark IV does so poorly. I WILL NEVER COME BACK AND I WILL ALWAYS GIVE A POOR RECOMENDATION!!!!!!!

Won't go back!
By BeckyE, 11/20/06
Overall, I didn't like my stay! Carpets were dirty and hide away bed was gross! It looked like the sheets had never been cleaned! I paid $100.00 a night....way too much money for this old hotel. It sure needs a remodel!

Dirty
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/13/06
All the carpet and bathroom flooring was dirty from a black residue. If you took a wet washcloth and wiped the carpet, the cloth would be significantly dirty. The dirt was not visible but it showed up in dark smudges in the "clean" towels left in the room. Our bare feet were darkened from the walk from the shower to the dresser. The hotel manager said that chemicals in the water interacted with the cleaning agents and created this problem. She said that all rooms had that problem. Otherwise, the pool and jacuzzi were fine. Other items were fine. Although I have stayed here before, I will not in the future.

Great Stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/5/06
I really enjoyed the Large Jacuzzi, Great breakfast with waffles and homemade cinnamon rolls. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room had a microwave and fridge that really helped for our stay. The room was very clean. My husband really appreciated having free wireless Internet.

Not Happy
By Kelly, 11/27/05
I am a local and have rented a room a few times from this hotel for the same purpose each time. My daughter loves to swim and we celebrate her birthday there with a few friends and family. Normally it is a great experience but this time I didn't like the service from the start I was way overcharged and there definately was new management. The room was run down, things were broken and/or didn't work right. I felt harrassed by management.I was never offered a room by the pool but i figuered i told the manager that this was a pool party she probably would put me in one by the pool. So I paid for it and went on my way. I came back and picked up the keys and found out that we were clear across the street and would have to walk outside back and forth to our room and the pool, in the middle of november. BRR! I asked her why she didn't give me the room by the pool and she said, " It was ten dollars more", The lady already charged me $60 for the room and made me pay $5 for each additional child that wanted to swim, She just wiped out about $90 out of my pocket book and she didn't think i wanted to pay $10 more for the room closer to the pool. Anyways, the hotel works it just has a lot of quarks to get through, I regreted renting the room five minutes after I got there, and want to go rent someplace else who will overcharge me but I will at least get the service I want. Hense the reason I had the party at the hotel. The party was a success because I was a prepared mom who brought my own garbage bags, blankets, and board games to play, because I knew the kids would make a mess, need more blankets, and get bored. We had pizza and cupcakes and spent the whole day swimming and having fun. I just wish I would have done it some place else.
