Not worth the dollars saved

You definitely get what you pay for in this hotel.
Our room was tiny, smelly, and dirty. Let me start with the bathroom. The wallpaper was filthy--literally dirt and other stains all over the wallpaper and walls. The shower was full of mildew and bits of hair as if it hadn't been cleaned in a long time. I was afraid to shower without my flip-flops. The toilet was filthy as well. I don't consider it worth the money saved to need seat covers, flip-flops, etc. to use the bathroom.
We tried to watch a movie, which was $10, but the screen kept blinking out the movie and the quality was bad. Luckily, the staff was very nice about refunding us our money for that. Additionally, the room had a refrigerator that was broken, but was fixed rather quickly. Aside from the odor size, and oldness of the room, the rest was fine. We did have a few of some decrepit building, which may have actually been part of the hotel.
My husband and I swore that we were not staying in cheap hotel in a "prime" location again. Basically, I think that the star system means nothing when these hotels are located close to some big attraction, i.e. beach, waterfalls, etc.
