OHANA Royal Islander, Honolulu

We have stayed at the Royal Islander every summer for the last 20 years. We are sad to let other return guests that this great hotel is no longer in existence. The hotel has been bulldozed since July of 2006 and the Trump Towers will be erected on the same spot where the Royal Islander has stood for years. For us as well as the other returned guests who made the ORI their home away from home, we bid her aloha. Thank you for the so many wonderful years when we enjoyed the penthouse, rooms 1203/1204 with our daughter and other children we brought along during the summers. Thanks to Frank, Garrick, Joseph Albertoni and Wally for the wonder years. The memories of those summer weeks will be in our hearts forever. The McKinney Family

We have stayed at the Royal Islander many times, and find it one of the best buys and convient hotels in Waikiki. It is across the street from the beach, and is close to the shopping areas and restaurants. The only small problem is parking, which is a major problem in Waikiki. You must park around the corner from the hotel, and you also share the pool across the street at the Outrigger. Yes, it's not like one of the expensive hotels right on the beach, but I don't go to Hawaii to live in the room, so it is perfect for me, and I would recommend it to anyone.

Love the room!! The view is just excellent. The service is pretty good and the staffs alway listen to you. if i come back to visit, i definitely will stay in this hotel again!!

Where price meets location. Basic no-thrills room across the street from the beach. Use the pool at Outrigger Reef on the Beach and you have everything you could want.

We loved this hotel because they catered to my family's needs. They gave us a warm welcome when we arrived. They called us by name when we checked in. Our bags were brought to our room promptly. Everyone form the people at the front desk to the roomaservice to the parking attendants were very polite and always willing to help. We loved the location because it wasn't a long walk or cab ride from the beach or the festvities downtown. The view opn the top floors are beautiful and we'd definatly request to stay there again. WE have stayed at many of the other hotels but now we only stay at the "Ohana" hotels and again, now we will stay at the Islander again. Thank you so much for making our stay so enjoyable! Mahalo.

My wife and myself went to Hawaii for our Honeymoon and stayed on the top floor of this Hotel. The Room was nice size and the view was outstanding. For the $ we paid this was a real bargan. The staff was always very friendly and helpful. If your looking for a nice place close to the beach and reasonable, I would recommend this hotel.
