This review is for Kaye and Brian's unit 409. To sum it up we found a rat in our unit hours after we arrived and we weren't given a refund when we told them there was absolutely no way we were staying there. We were completely floored when they offered no apology, and when they said we should find other accomodations for the night so they could patch the rathole found behind the fridge, then come back for the rest of our planned stay. And what if the rat wasn't patched back behind the drywall, but rather forced out of it, leaving us with a little companion to poop in our suitcases and charm us to sleep with its pitter-patter feet and little squeaks. We ended up driving to Waikiki late that night, where we spent the rest of our vacation.

OK value. Needs air cond.
By ,
Beautiful view. We had a room on the top north east corner. There was a balconey on the ocean side and the north side. Very nice. Overall conditon of the room was really pleasing. There was a smell about the whole place outside. Don't know what but smells like septic fumes. No air conditioning and we had to take the mattress from the bedroom and put it in the livingroom. I would go back if the room had an air conditioner. Not much to see when snorkeling but nice beach. We drove to a beach by Dilingham airport for snorkeling. Awesome and turtles everywhere.

It's good, mostly

These are condos and each is individually owned so depending on the owner the units will very greatly! We stayed in Heidi Hawaiis unit 3rd floor I think. It was very nice, well done, stocked wonderfully, and she is a total doll! Having said that we were hot because in the main building if the tradewinds die down there is not much breeze. Ceiling fans help but not a lot, a good floor fan to point at the bed would have made a really big difference. Also on the lower floors in the main building you will get woken up very early by wild roosters across the street and there is road noise. You are not on the ocean side of the units for sleep so keep that in mind, even if you find a good owner that can't be changed. If you don't have a sense of humor it might not be for you. We also stayed in the sunrise beach cottage. It was even closer to the water and had a designated parking spot which was nice because it was always close. The cottages have more windows therefore better breezes and are much cooler esp at night! It was cute and also well stocked with most of what we needed but not as stocked as Heidis or as updated and clean. The owner seemed a little tempermental but was ok in the end. Having said all that even though Heidis is nicer the cottage is cooler and because 80 at night is a bit hard for me we will try to get the cottage when we go back. Hope that helps! Oh groceries, and a few restraunts are near by, North shore is great, so is the cult center. I wouldn't miss a day trip to hanauma bay to snorkel and visit tourist area of wikiikii for dinner. Also FYI tip: we flew Delta (NW AND AK, and more are owned by Delta) last time and our flights both ways were cancelled without any notice because they weren't full, Aperantly they own so many airlines they do this often and just reroute you to fill seats,so a non-stop to where you want to be on the west coast could could turn into to two reroutes (that's 3 flights when we paid for 1 nonstop). It took us three times longer to get home than expected, and you won't get an apology, that you'll believe anyway! Hawaiian only owns Hawaiian so full or not they have to take you or loose your business. I will always fly them and never try to save few bucks again! That was a hard lesson learned and with a dozen or so flights on Hawaiian with no problems I should have known better!

Individually own condos for vacation rental.

We have stayed at "Heidi of Hawaii" units twice and have recommended her units to others that have been equally please. They are very clean and she is so helpful with ideas of what to do. She has two units now. Do a search for her website. Coral reef protect shore and is great for snorkeling. It's like having your private beach. You will be very please. Enjoy! FYI Renovations have been completed.

Hawaii Paradise
By ,
We stayed in a newly 1 bedroom (sleeps 4) remodeled condo with a corner lanai. It was very clean and comfortable. The amenities are not what you would expect from a large 5 star resort. However, if your looking for an oceanfront location on the North Shore, this is the place. It is perfect for touring the North Shore, the true beauty of Oahu.

I would go back
By ,
Pat's is a nice place to go if you don't care about 5 star amenities, and being close to everything. To me, 5 star is right on the beach with no crowds! and that is Pat's. The beach is awesome and you are a short drive from Turtle Bay and the amenties of the North Shore. For the rate, I have paid more for a regular hotel room in Phoenix, Az. My only complaint about the property is that it is outdated a bit and the smell of sewer can be very overcoming at times, but hell, all you need to do is go sit on the beach and get out of the parking lot to avoid the smell. Great place for families on a budget. Paul, Las Vegas, NV

I give it a 1/2 a star!
By ,
The room that we were in was filthy! Our bed was made, but the sheets were dirty, the dishes were dirty in the cupboards. There was a half a cup of coffee in a mug inside the cupboard. The bathroom was not clean, and we had to buy our own toilette paper! It could have been a really nice room, but it was so dirty. It also smelled like sewer outside in the parking lot. I would not stay there again!

Nice, quiet location.
By ,
The unit that we stayed in was on the second floor and was upgraded recently. If you're looking for a 5-star hotel accomodations, you should be somewhere else. As for me, I liked our stay there. It is far from the hustle and bustle of Honolulu and is close to the North Shore. The beach infront of the condo is private and there are only a few people there every time we took a swim or just vegged out on the beach. It is nice to be in touch with the "Old Hawaii". What's even nicer is the small church (St. Joachim's) near the building. We just walked to hear mass and they welcomed us there with leis after they learned that we are from California. I would go back if I can. Also, the drive anywhere is really nice. You should go! Mahalo for reading this. Aloha!

great beach and location
By ,
These are nice condos on a beautiful beach. They vary in amenity because each has a different owner. Ours had an ocean view and was very nicely furnished. We did not want to deal with the Waikiki crowds and this place was perfect.

By ,
it is an OK place,no more. Basically not a hotel or anything like it but a large building with very small appartments. It is going renuvations- well needed, as many other things in it are not working.
