Maui Kai, Lahaina

I have been staying in this unit for years becasue it has everything anybody would want. Starting with the best ocean front view on the island. You can look down and see fish or turtles swimming in the ocean. If you look up you will see two beautiful islands and if it is the right time of year you will be able to see lots of whales right from your room Donna Bender who owns this unit takes great care that everything is always in first class condition. She makes 3 or 4 trips a year to Maui to insure this. In addition she has written a Local Girls Guide To Maui and leaves a complimentary copy in the unit. The guide suggest places to eat and shop as well as places to see and things to do while on Maui. I enjoy staying in this unit because all the appliances are new. It has free high speed Internet accesss as well as more kitchen gadgets that I have at home. In additional I think it is an excellent value. You can pay a lot more, but you won't find a nicer place to spend your Hawaiian vacation. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the pool and hot tub are a great place to hang out. So if you are looking for a great Hawaiian vacation and don't want to pay extra for things like Internet, local phone calls and parking why search the web for Maui Kai 807 and I am sure that you will have a great time.

After cutting back on our vacation last year my husband and I really wanted a special trip this year and going to Maui and getting unit 806 made it worth the wait. I had heard about the Maui Kai because it is right on the beach with lots of oceanfront units and has a nice pool and hot tub. We still had to budget carefully but after doing some research I found the owners site called mk806.com We e-mailed them through their site and got a discounted rate and a free night on top of the discount which really made it the best bargain I could find (even better than vrbo listings I looked at because the price for 806 had no cleaning costs and this unit was newly renovated and much much better than what I saw elsewhere). One nice thing is the Maui Kai runs like a hotel so we even got daily maid service included in our price even though it is a condo. The unit was renovated and looked like something you'd see in a magazine. Lots and lots of fancy tile, comfy bed, nice furniture, flat screen tv, the kitchen was all new and fully equiped and I could go on but you can see pictures on the owners web site if you want. Since unit 806 is almost at the top of the building the views were incredible. We could see miles of ocean and the islands of Lanai and Molokai. I think what really made it for me was that you felt like you were flying above the ocean every time we stepped out onto the balcony (which the Hawaiians call a lanai). We would highly recommend unit 806. The Maui Kai is a great condo and it all came together and more than made up for last year's missed vacation.

This was our second stay at the Maui Kai, and we already are booked to go back a third time. It is ON the beach. Not near, not a short walk, ON the beach. The beach, ocean, and sunsets are simply beautiful. The sand was barefoort ready, and snorkeling was fun right from the shore; just bring your dive shoes for the coral. Grab a bottle of wine from the local grocery store, some fresh pineapple and papaya from the nearby Farmer's Market, and kick-back on your private lanai and enjoy the sunset. It just doesn't get any better. If you are looking for a quiet, safe, and romantic place, this is it.

It is true,the View is great and a Lot of Whales. But the Problem is the Beach. After going 5 meter in the Water, a Wall of large Rocks made it inpassibel to go any further.In 7 days I saw 2 Poeple in the Water. Every Day 30 Miles Wind did not help. In the same Time in Lahaina almost no Wind at all.

We have now stayed in unit 506 at the Maui Kai several times. The studio is nicely upgraded. We like the murphy bed as you have substantially more space during the day. It looks like all the furnighings have been replaced in the last year or two. Flat screen TV, DVR, free internet, fully equipped kitchen. The location is within short walking distance of Star Market, and several affordable restaurants. The view is incredible. Staff is friendly. It isn't a big high rise with a pool side bar. Very quiet. Highly recommend.

I have been to Maui several times and would never stay any were else than the Maui Kai. I have always requested room 604 and never been disappointed. It is a one bedroom with a full kitchen. This unit has just recently been totally remodeled and has all of the modern touches. The balcony view is to die for, it is a full view of the ocean and the beautiful sunsets.

My wife and I have stayed at the Maui Kai twice now and we will never stay anywhere else on Maui. The location is perfect, the rooms are great, and the service was wonderful. Every room is ocean front! We couldn't have ask for a better experience in a Hawaiian hotel!

i have been to maui 6 times and i stayed at the maui kai every time, it was perfect for us and i have no reason to look anywhere else.i am on social security now and it makes it more difficult to go there again, for the prices have gone up.i would like to see a senior discount or a disable veteran discount that would help.if you are planning on visiting maui the maui kai is a great place to stay.

My husband and I have stayed at the Maui Kai two times now and are looking forward to going this Feb. We found the Maui Kai by mistake. Two years ago we came to Maui with our two children......but did not make reservations anywhere! Who goes to Maui in Feb anyway? Well, little did we know, it was whale season. We found reservations at another hotel for a few nights, but that was it. We found the Maui Kai and decided to try it. We didn't even know if it was a Hotel because from the outside it looks like an apartment complex. When we walked into our room the first night I could not believe it. The room was gorgeous. The view was incredible. You cannot get any closer to the beach. I loved waking up in the morning and watching the whale breech from our lanai. The staff is top notch. They treat you like family. The condo owners are wonderful also. This is not a resort though, so if you really are the type that needs $20 drinks poolside and $$$$ a night, the Maui Kai is not for you. But if you like to have a BBQ by the pool, and don't mind not having room service, this is the place. You really can't beat the accomodations for the price. Dislikes? Hmmm....we can't live here year round!

We have been to Hawaii many times and wish we would have found the Maui Kai a long time ago, each roon has a wonderful view, no partial ocean view but full view, the staff has been super for the last three times that we have been their, we are staying again in 08., looking forward to it.
