Just Stopped By.

We were on a vacation that spanned from Disney World to Savannah, Hilton Head and on to Charleston.
On the way back to Orlando to fly home, we stopped at the Jekyll Island Club. The front desk personnel were extremely friendly, they had a room in the annex that had a wonderful "sun porch". I looked at reviews on my Blackberry and saw some horrible ones - I have to say that the staff, the room, Vincents - the informal lounge, and the Grand Dining Room, were all wonderful. We hadn't planned on dining there, being as the Grand Dining room recommends sportcoats - the nice bartender in Vincents said it was fine to be in slacks and "collared" shirts - we had an outstanding dinner and really felt the presence of the "club members" (i.e. JP Morgan, Rockefeller, etc...)
Overall, I can't say enough about the staff, facility, and history. I will certainly be headed back for a longer stay.
Enjoy a true American original!!
