Days Inn Americus, Americus

We were put into a room with a defective air conditioner. When we contacted the office about it, we were told to wait for "the man" to come look at it. After almost an hour and me calling 3 times, he finally showed up, clicked the button a few times and told us nothing was wrong. He felt air so he thought it was working--it was blowing, just not cooling. We checked in at 7pm, went to dinner and to see some sights, returning just after 9pm. In 2 hours, the room had not cooled. He arrived at 10pm to check the air. After numerous more complaints, we were finally given another room (we asked for and was originally given 2 dbl beds/smoking--our new room was one queen handicapped room/nonsmoking). Granted, a couple weeks before there had been a devastating hurricane and I am sure rooms were at a premium in this small town, but we were angry, tired and hot and all we wanted to do was be in bed by 9:30. A hotel should honor your request as soon as possible if they are able. I didn't care about the new room we were assigned to as we were just happy to have a room at all, but to take as long as they did for that to happen is unacceptable to me.
