Amelia Oceanfront Bed & Breakfast, Fernandina Beach

Cozy, convenient, and a lovely beach!! T. J. and Han did an amazing job welcoming us and attending to our requests. The breakfast food was light and delicious. The Inn was everything we had hoped for and more!

The beach was wide and lovely. That was all the good I can say. We arrived for a weekend away and nothing that was promised online or via email was true. The "delivered in a picnic basket" breakfast was some quickly thrown together things on a dirty wicker tray. The fridge did not work, the coffeemaker was filthy, the dishes and silverware in the drawers were sticky and had food on them. We were on our way to complain and overheard the staff in the offices discussing two "b-tches" who kept complaining. We then heard those same women enter the building. They were (justifiably I think) upset that their credit card had been charged without approval. The tall man kept screaming about he could do what he wanted. The women quickly departed and very honestly, we cut our stay short too. I wanted to confront such bad service but my spouse talked me out of it.

The roof leaked in several places very unclean environment. Could use some renovations to keep it nice. Would go back for the view if money is dropped into it a bit. Customer service could be more compassionate with displeased customers.

For a first timer to Bed and Breakfast lodging, the 1735 was an excellent choice. We stayed in the Admiral Suite. Wakening up to a view overlooking the ocean waves was wonderful. The morning breakfast basket was a yummy treat. The warm cheese blitzes and the warm fresh muffins were great. It was a great time of year to go. The beach was not crowded. Was able to take morning, early afternoon, late afternoon, and evening walks.
