Hidden Costs at The Peabody!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/27/06
Our recent stay at The Peabody was much less than what we hoped for from the four diamond ratings of the hotel. The lobby was very nice and the pool/hot tub is excellent. The rooms were good and clean but not anywhere worth what they charge for them (nice beds but no fridge, no microwave, medium size TV, regular tub/shower, etc.). Many conveniences were available... At An Additional Cost !! The exercise room was $10/day for guests, they charged for shade at the pool (cabana rental), there is an internet fee of $8/day (even if you don't use it) that they surprise you with when you check out, etc. In summary, great pool, nice lobby, good service, good location, an average room w/o fridge/microwave, and overpriced with additional costs all over the place.

Great with a few drawbacks!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/2/06
I had requested a king room and had to wait an hour over the 3pm check-in time because of that. In my opinion, check-in time is 3pm regardless of what kind of room you request! The front desk staff was not all that polite and it was frustrating and I finally ended up talking with a manager and was in my room within 15 minutes. The walls to your room are paper thin and you can hear just about anything going on in the room next door. They need to not make their doors so heavy, because closing them makes a really loud BANG ~ especially at 2am when my neighbors kept coming in and out. Having said that, the room was over-sized and extremely clean. The bathroom had extra nice ammenities! The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in. I would stay there again, just for that! I only ate in the B-Diner and thought that was over-priced and not as clean as the rest of the hotel. Drive a mile or two and go to Denny's which is better quality and less expensive or drive to another of the million restaurants you have to choose from. The pool was great, as was the "duck" parade! Overall, I would recommend to anyone who loves a good bed and plenty of cleanliness!

Great service & location but noisy rooms
By David, 8/12/06
Once again had a great stay at the Peabody. Good service started off as I was taking the bags out of my car. The valet brought over a tissue as he noticed that my glasses were fogging up. And speaking of tissues, that would be the thickness of the room walls. I had a room adjoining the lobby and could hear quite clearly the musician performing in the lobby until midnight every night. I could also hear quite clearly the folks in the room next door...when the came in at 2 AM. Great venue, expensive food, good bar, nice location and fantastic service. Just bring ear plugs.

Just Wonderful!!
By timnhope, 7/30/06
The Peabody is what most luxury hotels want to be when they grow up. In an attempt to be financially responsible, I went on Priceline to find a hotel for our last weekend getaway of the summer and got this one for $100 per night. Our intentions were to visit Seaworld at some point during the three days that we were there, but we couldnt drag ourselves away from the hotel for that long. I have to tell you that I was a little concerned when I realized that they used bedspreads instead of comforters. (Bedspreads always seem dated to me. I dont know why. They just do.) Anyhoo, we got in at about 8 and were given the living room half of a suite because they didnt have any other king rooms available. Although there was the dreaded bedspread on the bed, the room we were given was beautifully decorated and a lot more than I had expected. Because it was the living room portion of a suite, the bed was a Murphy bed, which was so comfortable we were opposed to getting out of it. In addition to normal hotel room furnishings, the room also included a sofa, two pretty comfortable club chairs and more tables than we knew what to do with. We loved the room. All of the staff we came across, especially the guy at the front desk and everyone we spoke to at the concierge desk was very courteous and helpful. We spent time in the lobby bar listening to the free entertainment which was peaceful, romantic and very enjoyable. There was a pianist/vocalist, violinist and bass player. They were very good and Ive paid cover charges to see a lot less talented musicians. My only suggestion/warning would be to skip this hotel if you are on a diet or have any hope of watching your calories. If they are not known for their desserts, they should be. I dont recall seeing so many appetizing desserts that actually taste better than they look. (We tried more than our fair share of them). In addition to the numerous desserts, we attended the Sunday Brunch at Cappicio and had breakfast at the diner. Everything we had at the hotel was delicious.

Wahoo

Okay here is the deal you can pay $300 some dollars for the same room that you can get at the Rosen Centre for $100 some a night, but the ducks where great so if you stay at the Rosen Centre just go see 'em its like a five second walk from the Rosen Centre. But At the Peabody there is a Plasmia Screen TV in the bathroom

I've Never Felt So Cmfortable
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/6/06
I was privileged to stay at the Peabody through a conference. The food was wonderful! They had everything very well organized and if there were any glitches, we were not aware. I can't say enough about the beds!! I do believe I slept better here than I've ever slept in my own bed.

Perfect!

I used a travel site to get a reduced rate, but if i had to do it over again I would still rent a room here at the current rate! So worth it and centrally located!

Nothing bad to say about the Peabody Orlando but.....
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/28/06
I am very upset with my car rental experience. When I called PAYLESS CAR RENTAL to tell them that we had had a flat tire, we were basically told to make sure we replaced it before we brought it back. (I think that is their vehicle maintainence plan) I had hoped for some highway assistance. My sister and I ended up changing the tire ourselves and driving it to a place to buy a new tire only to find out that PAYLESS intended to sell us a tire anyway. Our tire "didn't match" (?!) theirs. (I suspect it had too much tread on it) Anyway, you get what you pay for. I've learned my lesson.
