Bad experience for a high price
By ,
The Peabody is a beautiful looking hotel with nice rooms. That ends the things I liked about this hotel. The service was terrible. There were not enough people working to meet the needs of the guests. When you want anything you must be prepared to wait in slow moving line. Many of the servers seemed bothered to have to deal with so many people. There were no towels at the pool and no place to really seat. It was over crowded and underserved. I would have rather had good service, a cup of coffee and a smile.

Great place
By ,
Being from Memohis, Tn and going to the original Peabody, i really enjoyed how they recreated one of the souths Grand hotels in new modern decor. The ducks complete the package.

Have kids? Stay @ Disney Hotel Instead!
By ,
My husband stayed here for a business meeting, so our 2 sons (10 & 4)and I came along to go to Disney World. I realized that kids were not welcome at this hotel. We went to see the ducks while my husband checked in. Since the other few seats were taken, my boys sat on the piano bench right beside the duck fountain and an employee came up right away and told them nastily to get up because they weren't allowed to touch the piano. I'm not quite sure where they expected us to wait all that time. I doubt if they wanted us sprawled out all over the floor in the lobby. Maybe if check-in was a little quicker, we wouldn't have needed to sit anywhere. Also, you would think the duck fountain would be a big draw for kids, so maybe that wasn't the best place for the piano. Well, after we got our room, the boys were excited to check out the pool. So when we were almost out the door to pool area they were skipping and telling us to hurry when another employee told them (again not in a very friendly way!)there's NO RUNNING in this hotel! Which I would not have let them do anyway. I've never had a problem with my children anywhere else. I also called the frontdesk to ask if we could walk somewhere for an icecream sundae, and someone said, "Out the front door and turn right." and hung up. No complimentary shuttles to parks~~taxis are $45-60/day. Also the one restaurant that serves breakfast in the hotel was completely filled. We had to walk to Dennys. Great service, uh? Well, after the business meeting, we all went to Disney's Caribbean Beach hotel to finish our vacation, and it was perfect! I'd would rather pay to stay @ Disney than stay @ Peabody for free.

Ducks= overrated
By ,
My first thought was the fact that everything about the hotel is in reference to ducks. We caught the "march of the ducks" on our first day and it is bogus. 5 ducks walk down a carpet into a fountain. That's it. They don't do tricks. They don't sing. They just walk and swim and eat. Big freakin deal. Then they have these stupid duck logo on everything in the hotel from the soap to the elevators. The hotel itself is nice, but not glamourous. It is comparable to an Hilton. The rooms are OK, nothing extravagant. The beds are borderline uncomfortable, as they are lumpy and the sheets are not fitted so they move around a lot as you turn- so if you are not a lay still sleeper, you will find yourself sleeping on the bare matress by morning. The A/C goes on and off every 3 minutes and is loud when it clicks on. There are TV's in the bathroom over the toilet, which are worthless. They charge you a $10 daily fee for wi-fi and bottled water, which is not optional. The gift shop is weak and the workers there are rude. The positives are that the hotel is a 10 min walk to the convention center by walkway, which is about as close as you can get to the OCCC. The Cappricio restaurant was excellent- the steak was so tender, you could have used a spoon to cut it. The sports bar is relaxed and they have entertainment every night. Overall, this hotel is above average, but not extravagent like they try to make themselves out to be. This is a 3 1/2 star hotel with a 5 star hotel price. I would stay here again if I had to, but I would rather get the free drinks from the Embassy Suites just up the road.

Club Level and Top of the Line
By ,
I enjoyed the 27th floor immensely -since it was the last floor of this luxury hotel complex and at club level. The only problem is that I didn't get a chance to enjoy the lounge or many of the other 'club level' amenities due to a convention I was attending. Service was excellent, friendly and first class. Dining in the hotel was also just as superb. If you read my other reviews, you'll see that The Peabody gets top ratings compared to some other 'locales' around the country... I enjoy complaining - but I don't have anything bad to say about this place (other than I wish I had more time to enjoy it!!) Wow!

Nice lobby, average rooms...
By ,
Walking into the Peabody, we thought it was going to be a great experience. The lobby is gorgeous; there are restaurants in the hotel. But, the room was just average, and a little smelly. The bed was comfortable and everything was clean, but it's not the kind of hotel that makes you want to stay and hang out in the room. The hotel offers some sort of bus pass, that we thought would take us to theme parks, but it only takes you for rides up and down the street. There is no free shuttle service to anywhere. Also, don't plan on having a meal in the room for under $50 for two people. A six pack of beer costs $24. All in all, we felt that we paid for the name Peabody and that was it.
