Have kids? Stay @ Disney Hotel Instead!
My husband stayed here for a business meeting, so our 2 sons (10 & 4)and I came along to go to Disney World. I realized that kids were not welcome at this hotel. We went to see the ducks while my husband checked in. Since the other few seats were taken, my boys sat on the piano bench right beside the duck fountain and an employee came up right away and told them nastily to get up because they weren't allowed to touch the piano. I'm not quite sure where they expected us to wait all that time. I doubt if they wanted us sprawled out all over the floor in the lobby. Maybe if check-in was a little quicker, we wouldn't have needed to sit anywhere. Also, you would think the duck fountain would be a big draw for kids, so maybe that wasn't the best place for the piano. Well, after we got our room, the boys were excited to check out the pool. So when we were almost out the door to pool area they were skipping and telling us to hurry when another employee told them (again not in a very friendly way!)there's NO RUNNING in this hotel! Which I would not have let them do anyway. I've never had a problem with my children anywhere else. I also called the frontdesk to ask if we could walk somewhere for an icecream sundae, and someone said, "Out the front door and turn right." and hung up. No complimentary shuttles to parks~~taxis are $45-60/day. Also the one restaurant that serves breakfast in the hotel was completely filled. We had to walk to Dennys. Great service, uh? Well, after the business meeting, we all went to Disney's Caribbean Beach hotel to finish our vacation, and it was perfect! I'd would rather pay to stay @ Disney than stay @ Peabody for free.
