Much better alternatives out there

The decor is very dated, the rooms, halls, and elevator are small and cramped, and there is an overall feeling of deferred maintenance. The staff was less than accommodating and downright illogical. We booked a room somewhat at the last minute. We had to go back and forth with them to get a confirmation. They have a 30 day cancellation policy that they failed to address adequately with us, nor did they offer us an alternative due to the timing of our reservation. It was a wedding and we had logistic issues and had to cancel. They were sold out and re-booked our room and suffered no loss, but would not refund our money. We ended up at a cleaner, newer, nicer hotel with wonderful service quite close by, and that hotel amended their policy of 72 hour cancelations up front, telling us they would extend us a 48 hour window. Much more logical and accommodating. We had a wonderful stay at the other hotel, don't bother with the Chesterfield.
