The Charter Club of Marco Beach, Marco Island

Everyplace is going to have some rave reviews and some terrible reviews. The truth is not everyone will LOVE the Charter Club. And, the good far outweighs the bad. If being near the ocean and having a great view matters most to you, you will be very happy. If having Ritz-Carlton white glove service matters most, you will be disappointed. To be factual, the Charter Club is about 20 years old, so some parts of it appear a little dated. The blue/green rug in the units is not good, but all of the units have just been refurbished with new appliances, granite counters, new upholstery and other details. The grounds are beautiful and there is plenty to do. The free sail boats, bikes and sea kayaks are a great benefit. People who say the units are filthy are either wrong, or just had a uniquely bad experience, which can happen anywhere. Above all, Charter Club has a great, easy going atmosphere, the people are very friendly, the ocean, breeze and view are all fantastic, and the accommodations are a huge value for the money. Go see what Marriott, Hyatt, and other hotels charge for an OCEAN FRONT two bedroom, two bath suite, with a kitchen, living room, dining room and huge ocean facing balcony.

Units (I saw multiple) had nice kitchens, comfortable beds and nice washer/dryer. Bathrooms were horrible, carpeting bad, cheap looking elevators, fitness room a JOKE, area by shuffleboard, pool table was cheaper looking than elevators with tacky, dirty vending machines leading the way to the pool. Hilton Vacation Club should be ashamed to have the Hilton name anywhere near this property. Price is on line with places that were actually nice. Embarassed to have stayed here.

Quite frankly we like most everything about the Charter Club. Newly refurbished, Nice size rooms for the age of the condo. The bed isn't too bad. It has a washer and dryer in each condo. The pool has a deep end and is a nice size unlike the newer condos. The North tower is closest to the beach so we always try to get it and have all 4 times. They are very accommodating if possible. They have some various days when they serve rootbeer floats, sundaes, subs and donuts by the pool. They even have arts and craft days. The grandkids loved them. What don't I like? Well it's only 2 bedrooms and I can't take as many kids and grandkids as I'd like to. Because it's older it's not like the newer more elegant HGVClub units. But your on the beach!!!!!!!

My family just returned from the Charter Club. The condo was the worst I have stayed at with HGV Club. There was a cockroach, and 22 shell casing in the bedroom. The furniture needed updated badly. You needed to wash your dishes if you wanted to use the dishwasher. The resort was the oldest on the beach. It catered to the elderly not to all. There was little to no activities for young people or families. My very well behaved teens were told they had to wear proper attire on the tennis courts from the staff and some rude guests/owners (shorts, shirt and sandals not good), the bikes: there were only a few, they were rusted and in very poor shape, weight room was a joke, but get this... smoke as much as you want at the poolside. My kids got in trouble for a potential stubbed toe at the tennis courts but were fine to inhale rude peoples second hand smoke ALL DAY. Unbelievelable. NO we will not return. The beach was lovely though.

Was lucky enough to be invited to join an owner/family. My first time. Weather couldn't have been better. The water was fabulous, I didn't want to get out. Super beach!! Looked forward to the sunset every evening. Not one complaint!!

We are owners at The Charter Club at Marco and usually spend a week in May or June each year. It's a great place to spend your vacation!

Everything! Beautiful, clean and relaxing! Great tennis, wireless in units, activities, bikes, ping pong, pool, shuffle board, boats, work out room, etc! Everything right across the street -- movies, restaurants, etc. Supermarkets within short drive. Unit has kitchen, washer, dryer, blow dryers, etc

THe Charter CLub is my favorite place on the entire planet! And I truly mean that. I have gone there for 13 years and it has been the most relaxing and fun week every year! I highly recommend these condos. They have excellent views, perfect sevice, and all the activities you could possibly wish for, for any age!

Every room has an ocean view. South building overlooks the pool and ocean. North building overlooks dunes and ocean. Condo is spacious. Organized activities for the week by staff; tennis, arts and crafts for the kids, fashion show with lunch. Within walking distance to bookstore, movies, and restaurants. Very relaxing. Only complaint: The second bedroom in our condo had uncomfortable mattresses (the springs could be felt).

The temp was around 80 during the day and cool enough to open the windows at night. All of the units have rooms with balconies that face the ocean. Each condo sleeps up to six. There are 2 baths and 2 rooms. The rooms have sufficient closet and dresser space. There are washers & dryers in each unit which was a plus after swimming in the pool and ocean. The kitchen has all of the neccesities except food to make for a pleasant stay. The white beach was directly in front of us and just a short jaunt to the water. There were spectacular sunsets, playful dolphins jumping in the water, boats & bikes are available to rent (if you're not an owner), and I can't forget the arts & crafts to keep the kids busy. I felt like I was in a tiny village at the resort but we were close to shopping and sporting activities. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere relaxing. I can't wait to go back
