Panama City Resorts and Club, Panama City Beach

I was very disappointed in my stay last year....and even though my husband and I have been going and staying here for years....we decided that the staff is no longer keeping the property up and it's a waste of my holiday time to stay in a dirty condo with problems with the upkeep.....we will go somewhere else in the future. NOT Recommended!

So what if it is an older place-we are owners here--it is very nice-the people are nice,the the view is awesome, peaceful--safe--and quiet--very clean--we love it---we have stayed in a lot of resorts and this one is at the top of the list--

Allthough I agree the name "RESORT" is a stretch. This place is a great place to take the family. With only 4 floors and 40 units, each guest can get personal service from the staff if you want it. The beach, pool, and hottub are wonderfull. There is not alot of nonsense going on with drunken college kids. (no bar on site - within walking distance if you need it). I have been going there every spring since the 1990's and I'll be there this year also. It is close to everywhere in PCB, but far enough towards the west end that it is outside the night time noise area. We open our balcony sliding door and fall asleep to the sounds of the waves.

Directly on the beach and this is the ONLY good thing about this place. We checked into our room and found all carpeting was soaked, so much so that when our toddler walked from carpet onto the tile floor he slipped. Management wanted to set fans in our room to dry it out rather than just give us a new room. When they finally did set us up in new room, while it was dryer, both rooms were old, falling apart and all around dirty. Found a LARGE cockroach under bed. The entire area is for spring breakers and we made the mistake of taking a family vacation there. The rooms and area overall HUGE disappointment.

My husband and I just spent a week there and had a really nice time. The beach was clean and pretty and the water absolutely gorgeous! While the accomodations are obviously pretty old, the management has tried to update the look with new furnishings. We had everything we needed. When we requested something of the front desk, it was taken care of very promptly. Everyone was helpful and polite. It was also conveniently located to shopping and restaurants. My only regret is that the new Pier Place Shopping Center was not completed. It is really going to be an awesome place to shop, eat, or see a movie.

Close enough to the main clubs and strip for spring break, yet far enough away to take your kids and let them play on the perfect beach.

Panama City Resort and Club is an old motel that was converted to condos in 1982. Prior to our arrival I was told that it had been remodeled within the last couple years. Our efficiency (Unit 403) was booked as an RCI bonus week. There is no elevator and one of the stairwells was closed for construction. There was mold growing in the bathtub, on lamp shades and around an electrical outlet. The place smelled musty. The patio door didn't lock. The furnishings were all very old, soiled and stained to the extent we didn't feel like we could sit on anything. While the carpet was newer than the furniture, it was also stained, dirty and had wear patterns. The refrigerator was missing a shelf and had something growing on the side of it. The comforter on the bed appeared to be about 30 years old and we were afraid to pull it back to see what the sheets looked like. The hot tub hasn't worked for at least 15 months. Bottom line - the place hasn't been maintained or cleaned like it should be. The view from the balcony is great and the staff person we spoke to was very nice.

We really enjoyed this resort. We had planned on staying in a regular motel in a nearby town, but after seeing that the prices were about the same, we thought for the same price we might as well stay at the newer place not to mention it was a resort vs the motel we were going to stay at. Once getting there the staff was excellent, helpful, extremely friendly, the manager was an excellent help and she even remembered our names at checkout 5 days later, housekeeping was also very friendly. Once getting to our room on the 21st floor, it was above and beyond our expectations. It was extremely clean. We had a king size pillowtop bed with down feather pillows or at least it seemed like it. We had 2 bathrooms which was really convenient. Bunk beds which we didn't know about, we were expecting our 4 and 2 year olds to sleep with us or on the couch. The kitchen and dining/living areas were huge. To top it off the view from our balcany was awesome and beautiful. We will stay there again, it was our home away from home. The only thing no so cool was we had to wash our own towels but considering that was the only bad thing, oh well-with everything else being so excellent who cares about having to wash a little laundry on vacation.

If you like spending quality time with your family WITHOUT all the hustle you will find at the other end of the beach, then this is the place to be. I have stayed in some of the nicest hotels and "resorts" in New York, Toronto, Daytona and Panama City Beach and this one is the ONLY place I felt comfortable letting the kids "go". Our week at the resort (for the last 25 years...it has been in the family that long) was peaceful and we really had a chance to relax and unwind. No drunk teenagers, wild parties and noise all night long. If that is what you are looking for then get lost! This place is for families. Now, it is older and someday they will need to do some updating, but I am not going on vacation to look at and worry about cleaning up smoe fancy joint...know what I mean? I want to hang out on the beach with my kids and sit by the pool. Yeepi! We are going again this year (actually in just two days...I was searching the web just to catch a peak at the pictures of the beach when I came accross this site) and I can't wait!! Neither can my three boys...and husband too. He will spend a lot of his time on the pier which is within walking distance. Cool!

It is right on the beach...great pool and jacuzzi. Awesome deck with a wonderful view of the beach. There is a picnic area with grills and there are activities through the week to enjoy. The people are so nice and helpful and the place is small enough for you to have some peace if you need it! Not the hustle and bustle of a huge 28 story condo like the ones being built now. Great place to stay. One in a million!
