Vermont
By ,
We stayed in the Vermont time share very run down, the window had a board over it when we arrived. The awnings were in need of repair hanging off the building. The overall activities were river rafting and if you did not do that you were out of luck for something to do.

Can't wait until we go back
By ,
Don't fall for all the negative writings, we have been a owner for 9 yrs. We just spent last week there. It was clean, service was good, food was excellent. This is a timeshare not a hotel, so yes you have to wash clothes including towels supplied by complex. Cook in your own kitchen, and clean up after yourself. Listen to a really hard sales pitch from everyone connected including customer services. But that is how they sale and keep this place going. You have a choice buy or say not for me. The more interest you show the harder they try to see you. The golfing is great from the par 3 lighted course to the Arnold Palmer course the Legends. Staff is really friendly and try hard to please. Tip , if you have a tee time scheduled for 9 am , show up at least 30 minutes ahead . They are always booked up and pace of play is 4 hrs, if you are late you back up everyone else . If you need tickets to theme parks , just go to ticket counter , they are so helpful and will be able to give alot of advice and good ideas to each park. Location is tops , you can hear the cars on the track at the Richard Petty track at disney from the complex and if you are in the North or east Village you can see the fire works at night from Disney and Epcot from alot of the rooms patios. Relax and enjoy the River Island area, swimming , floating down the river, sunning , sleeping on the hammicks, play putt putt, or just kick back and enjoy a drink or a hamburger, this is what vacations should be. More to do here than most , and no its not for everyone, if you want to be waited on hand and foot try a hotel. But if you like timeshares , this one is the best I have been to. Can't wait to get back in 364 days.

Always the best vacations at OLCC
By ,
We have been owners at Orange Lake, Orlando, FL for many many years now. We always have a wonderful time. It is disheartening to read some of the reviews on websites from people who think that they are staying at a hotel. There is no housekeeping, unless you ask for it and don't mind being charged. I am not lazy and do not mind picking up after myself and the children. The tube rentals have become a bit ridiculous, however, we own at River Island, so, we get the rentals for free, along with the mini golf and other extras around the lazy river. We paid to own at River Island, so, we deserve a few perks. We are always a large group (8 in total) and absolutely love OLCC. We stay at the resort and let the children play all day while the adults relax at a table, reading, watching movies on the ipad, playing dominos or just watching other families enjoying their time. The rooms are always sparkling clean, the staff is always very helpful and we always have a WONDERFUL time. Some people are never happy but do not let their negativity prevent you from having the best vacation you can by taking their advise and not staying at OLCC. We look forward to our week in October every year...I only have 2 days to go until our next stay...I'm so excited! There was one time that we stayed for just a weekend in one of the 2 bedroom older units and the air conditioner broke. We contacted the front desk and were provided a new room immediately, yes it was a bit inconvenient, however, things happen. They moved us right away and were very apologetic. There is just so much to do at OLCC. The boys will go watch a movie while we sit by the bar. We cook our own meals and have a sit down dinner and exchange stories about our day. This is a family resort and it is supposed to be home away from home. We bring a small George Forman grill with us and make steaks, pork chops, burgers and we bake desserts. We have our vacation planning down to a science. I have figured out a way to cook all 3 meals at the resort, along with dessert for 5 adults and 3 children, for $2.31 per person per meal. So, sure staying or owning at OLCC may be a little bit more expensive than a hotel down the street, however, you cannot eat all your meals out for the price that you can cook.

Buyer Beware!
By ,
I purchased a timeshare through this resort. I was promised my deed 90 days after the payoff date. The unit was paid off in September of 2008. I did not receive a deed. Feeling it was a scam and I had been taken I withheld paying maintenance fees and property taxes. There were several collection attempts, in which I refused to pay and complained about not receiving the deed. I was then told that I would not receive the deed until my bill came current. Still I refused to pay and continue to be scammed. In early 2010, I received the deed in the mail with a demand letter to it sign over giving it back to the resort and a lien had been placed on the unit by the HOA. I did not sign this letter. And I maintain ownership today, however, there are overdue maintenance fees and property taxes. In March of 2012, I received a letter in the mail notifying me of a foreclosure hearing. As an out of state resident, my attorney and I attempted to postpone the hearing with no avail through the court system. We were advised to contact the lawyers representing the timeshare property. To stop the foreclosure taking place within days, I was forced to pay $980 for their attorney's fees, which I paid to salvage my credit and set up a payment agreement of $516 per month. I never authorized Orange Lake Resort to make monthly withdrawals from my bank account which they did. Also, after reading my current billing statement I learned that I am being charged $72 per month in "finance charges" and "collection costs." This too is highly suspicious and seems a very unethical business practice. I also question the number of others who reserve ownership of the same unit and week as I. And if it's lawful for Orange Lake resort to rent the unit and week I own having never received compensation for it, yet I'm paying to keep this unit in tact. My complaints are many during my experience with this company. Not to mention the lack of professionalism and resourcefulness of their phone representatives, who feel it is to their discretion to make decisions on behalf of the company, not transferring calls to a higher authority and acting as gate keepers. This is corporate extortion of the worst kind. If you do not pay up, your credit will be ruined. Your chances of purchasing a home or refinancing are destroyed. There is virtually no way out of them and the list goes on.

Unwanted Condo Sales Pressure Cooker Pitch!
By ,
Got in off the road afer a 5-hour drive with wife & two kids. Upon check-in I was ushered to a sales pitch desk where they rudely tried to force me into a 90 minutes sales tour of the condo-resort package. Keep in mind I am pre-paid over $200/day for 3-days and not on a free weekend sales thingy! I told the lady three-times (3x) no thanks...yet she persisted with a sleezy, psych-babble-manipilation-sales crapola arsenal rebutal every time I begged, "We are tired, can we please go to our room?" So...while waiting for 5pm check-in (5pm?) since 2:30 I called to complain and got no apology and was told, "This is a resort and this is how we make our living, selling units." Wow...I am there to meet their needs, not vice-versa! OK, so after I complained...the next morning while I was giving my kids a bowl of cereal...the phone rings and it starts again...Vin-Diesel-Boiler-Maker, (the sleeze stocks sales movie), sales pitch where I am told to take the 90 minute tour until I hang-up. Nice sales staff...if you love being abused on your expensive vacation. :( No maid service either!

Family of 5 on Disney vacation
By ,
Likes: Villas were large & spacious * parking right at front door * lots of pools * Dislikes: No wash clothes in room (housekeeping did bring after we called) * floors had glass and hair balls in corners, popcorn was found under glass coffee table from previous guests * Ants were found in kitchen at Villa * No bedding was provided for sleeper sofa (had to request) * only 3 packets of laundry detergent & dishwasher soap (we stayed for 7 nights) * jacuzzi tub did not work upon arrival - maintenance had to fix * towels laying all around beach and pool at 9:00 PM at night with very few guest present - no cleaning crew was keeping area neat and orderly * Bedding did not fit kingsize bed - queen flat sheets were provided and a queen mattress pad was placed under flat sheet * in guest bedroom one queen bed was made with a fitted flat sheet and proper size sheets while the other bed was made with flat sheets that did not fit * some pillow had pillow cases while other only had pillow protectors * 1/2 way through the week a recycling tote appeared - not sure if this was new or was a service they provided

WONDERFUL
By ,
I really don't see how anyone can complain about a huge, wonderful resort like orange lake. My family owns a timeshare and we go almost every year. There are even very nice with allowing us not to attend the whole 90 minute presentation every visit. I have a two year old son and he is never woken up or kept up late due to noise. He loves it here just as much as I do. If you have family and want a more homey feeling when your on vacation, i would definitely recomment orange lake. It's beautiful, clean, and the staff truely do care.

Wonderful, HUGE
By ,
8100 bldg in River Island. Spotless. Spacious. Arrived early had a great salad at a snack bar. Got into our two bedroom villa. Actually a condo. The pool was loud but what a joy to see everyone happy and having fun. The extra tube etc. cost is absolutely absurd. For that reason alone I doubt we will return with Grand kids. Yes we could afford it. Its's the principle. An absolute insult. We will go to one of the water parks instead. That said the place is great. Probably more for golfers than anything. This is not a place to be without a car. Even with shuttles. I was not pressured to buy anything. Just say no to free $20.00. They even offered us $100.00 cash. We said no thanks and that was it. We have a time share already.

Stay away from the 7day playpasses
By ,
Great location to all the attractions. Resort too large if you arent planning on just hanging and relaxing. They immediately try to get you to buy a 7day play pass telling you that you get unlimited access to slide wall climbing and lazy river and miniature golf. First of all my husband and I are 50 and we arent climbing a wall or try to find the miniature golf area. My children were told they couldnt go on bungie or wall because we didnt sign their wrist bands...when I asked a manager of this she said she was unaware of that! COMPLETE wast of money..you can just pay there if you even decide to do it. They are VERY pushy when it comes to trying to sell you a time share or play pass. They tell you its for 90 min. but everyone we were with were there for three hours before they had to get rude! Once you tell the guy no then another one shows up and tries to sell it to you..this happened four times with 4 different people...they dont know what NO Means! Jessica the manager is very rude ..cuts you off in conversation speaks condisending to you. All in all great trip just will be AVOID people trying to see me things. By the way 200.00 was the cost of the 7day play pass that wasnt ever used....and after speaking to 5 different people, being put on hold and even being disconnected I gave up and considered it a learning experience..hope you learn from us! Also try to avoid east village unless you are older and dont want kids around...(by golf)

Excellent holiday!!
By ,
We have an apartment on the River and whenever we go there, which is at least once a year, we have a fantastic time! The staff are helpful and friendly. Resort is clean, apartments are clean and well stocked with everything you could need. It's close to Disney which is a big bonus. We are looking forward to going again this May. It's very central to so many cool places. Everytime we go there's something new to do. Can't fault it at all!!
