La Quinta Inn Miami Airport North, Miami

I booked this hotel because it was close to the airport (15 minutes w/o traffic) and had a free shuttle. After getting in late and having a frustrating experience with American Airlines, we needed to go to Wal Mart and buy a new suitcase and laundry soap. The night staff was VERY helpful in givng us directions and making sure that we had what we needed. The hotel is very simple but our room was clean. The laundry facility was also acceptable. Shuttles were on time and got us to the airport quickly. Would stay here again especially for the price.

I have been trying to pay a bill but noone wants to call me back. You would think that if they wanted their money they would be calling me!

Airport shuttle took an hour to pick us up at MIA. Hotel is located in an unsafe area. There were people just hanging around the back of the property...pretty scary. Room smelled of mildew.

I stayed at this hotel for 1 night on July 8-9, 2007 because it was one of the cheapest hotels in the area. The hotel is old. When I walked in the room (#212), I thought it was okay but everything was old. The mirror ends had rust, the thing where you put the toilet paper was broken and the toilet paper was on the floor, the bathtub was old fashioned. The door underneath had a big gap, and i had to put towels underneath so bugs wouldn't come in. Beds were dirty and probably had bed bugs. Did not get sleep till 5am beacuse I heard car alarms and truck drivers all night beeping! The exterior was very old! Would only return if it was the only hotel in Miami! Also in a high crime area! Very discusting!

Previous reviews scared me, but I booked because it was one of the cheaper hotels near the airport with shuttle. Room was great, staff excellent, good food nearby (Kevin's). Shuttle only runs once an hour and it is 20 -25 min away from the airport. Would stongly recommend if you are looking for a more reasonable prices MIA airport hotel and the distance is not an issue.

My husband and me stayed in this hotel for 5 nights. The first room assigned to us was not ready, the second room had a malfunctioning toilette, the third room finally was ok. The person taking care of the breakfast didn't replace the food when were running out of something, the carpet of the room and hall had a stinking smell, and finally, we didn't have the room cleaned for 2 days, they only left a bag with towels and soap hanging in the handle of the door room. The worst hotel experience we have had.

We booked this with Hotwire when it was listed as a 2.5 star. After reading these reviews we were very apprehensive. But were pleasently surprized that the rooms were clean and freshly painted. We didn't see any girly bars. The hotel is sandwiched between a McDonald's and Wendy's in an industrial area away from the airport. The beds were clean and soft and the room was quieter than expected. I didn't hear planes until early morning. The pool was clean and the staff was very friendly. They did allow you to park your car there for your trip or cruise for free. But we elected to park at the airport for the increased security. We didn't see a security guard. We liked our rooms #123 & 129, they weren't remotely located. They also rekeyed the locks when we checked in. It is definately a 2 star hotel. I should also mention Hotwire contacted us and offered us a $50 refund as the star rating had been lowered from a 2.5 to 2. They also offered us a refund. I've had this experience with Hotwire before. Very customer friendly.

The sheets and bathroom were clean, however, the carpet had many stains and was dirty. There was plenty of parking space. The exterior walls were moldy; but in general I thought it was ok for spending the night and definitively a good deal for the price.

My girlfriend and I stayed at this hotel during the winter of 2005. For the price and location, this was a satisfing choice. It's only 15-20 minutes from the beach and you can't beat that for the price.
