Nice hotel!!!

I gotta say this hotel really was great! P.S. if you use SweetHotelDeals. Net for booking this hotel they usually have some pretty good hotel deals at this time of the year!

Disappointed

I'm a Diamond Hilton member and have stayed at this hotel several times and enjoyed my stays. I have been coming to this same Embassy for over three years. This time it was not up to par, I was playing on the computer and here comes about three roaches which was disgusting and I was swating them left and right. I tried four times to get a wake up call and no answer. I travel to Jax about once a month and have always enjoyed my stays at the Embassy but will no longer being staying at this hotel.

House Keeping SUCKS

Clean? I don't think so. We came into the room to hair on the toilet seat and on the bathroom floor. The exhaust fan shook the room until we complained to get it fixed. They fixed it to the point we could actually get some sleep the second night, but were supposed to replace it the next day. Six days later, after our departure we still did not get the fan fixed. Three time we had to ask for toilet paper, and four time to get our room cleaned after 5 pm. The microwave sounded like it was going to explode through the bar. On one of the occassions to get room cleaned, we came back to find no toilet paper(only 2 sheets left on the roll) and no towels were replace in the bathroom. Great place to stay if you need a bigger pain in the @ss than you need. We thought we would have a great stay the week before our wedding, but we had nothing but problems with house keeping.

Worst ever!! Roaches ect.

Wow! What a major disappointment!! Nasty Ordor in Lobby!! Maybe coming from water in fountains. I may call DEHEC. Failed to call me twice for wake up calls Roaches in Room No service for two days, had to call front desk for towel service Couldn't get onsite resturant to answer phone to order room service, called front desk and they tried to patch through no answer even called using my cell phone and called outside line no answer. Breakfast times needs to start to be served by 0600. We had to leave day before breakfast was being served.

Read B4 U Book

Overall, I would give this hotel 3 stars. I read reviews prior to me staying but my experience pretty much compare the other travelers that had complaints. The room was dated even though it has been renovated. They do not have free internet. What topped my trip was when we came back to the room in the wee hours in the morning only to find that housekeeping left the latch open and our door was never CLOSED. All of our valuables were inside!!. Also when we checked the room which is on the 2nd floor by an exit that leads to outside where you do not have to go pass the desk we were suprised to find someone else's underwear (USED)in the room. Will not stay there again.

First time to Jacksonville

I really liked the breakfast in the morning. The staff was always smiling and very friendly. The courtyard is very relaxing. The Omaha Steak House was outstanding. I have never had a steak that good before. The only thinkg we didn't like was all the kids that were running around in the hotel. Up and down the elevators and running down the walkways.This was in January 2007 at the end of the month. But we will be coming back again for the same conference. Hopefully not as many kids. We were told they hold birthday partys on the weekends. I like the fact that the shuttle bus takes you places and picks you up that was very convienent because we didn't have a car. I just wish the radius he travels would be larger. Seven miles is not far enough to someplaces. I am not that fond of inside pools. I am used to them outside to enjoy the sun and outside air. It is to stuffy in the pool area.

Nice place to stay

Overall the E/S in J-ville is a good experience. The building is 25 years old, but has been remodeled. You can still see it's age in parts of your room. The two room suite is nice, but the bedding and pillows need upgrading. The staff seems nice enough, and the breakfast is OUTSTANDING. The evening manager's reception includes beer, wine and liquor, snacks are a bit light. The Omaha Steakhouse resturant in the hotel is very good.

Interesting hotel

I have stayed here before...which was Excellent...but the second time I was here...it was not very good. The room I stayed the second time I was ehre were not very well maintained. The "executive" suites which are newer than the original building, were requested, and therefore more worn out. They had wobbly furniture, lights that did not work, and a cracked toilet seat. The carpet had scratch marks in it in the main room!!!!The TV in the main room somehow got one of the hotel PPV channels that showed nothing but porn! Very inappropriate!

not Jacksonville

This location did not make me smile as Embassy Suites normally do. I am accustomed to the E.S. in Franklin, Tn(which spoiled me) I would not reccommend the E.S. in Jacksonville. It seemed very dated although the bed was still comfy and breakfast good enough. The atmosphere seemed strange, alot of people up late at night looking over the railings, hanging in the hall. Just gave me the creeps. CJ (stayed in July '06)
