Royal Plaza, Lake Buena Vista

Giraffe Restaurant poorly managed. When they ran out of things, (like iceburg lettuce) Instead of telling me, they just gave me spinach. I asked for barbecue chicken, they gave me hot spicy chicken. When I paid cash, they charged my room and included their tip. (already paid in cash) Worst of it all, was the mold and cleaning service. The mold was bad in the rooms, and they only gave me new towels and just made the bed. They did no other cleaning.

We had stayed in this hotel before and it was pretty good the first time and i stayed in nov of 2010. We were all excited to go to disney and have a great time. Friday the first day we got there was good and everything went well, and then when saturday came is when we received our first problem. Breakfast was good (the giraffe cafe) until we went outside and sat out there waiting for almost an hour for the water park buses to come. We asked why was the buses taking so long and they told us that the buses come every 30 min and that there is only 2 disney buses that take you to the water park and they only come from like 8-9 a.m !! it was 10 a.m when we asked and we couldn't believe that all the buses were done for that day so we ended up driving over there. Also outside theres a sign that says where the buses go to but, they don't say what time and the 30 minute wait in between buses!!! also, the rooms are very dirty and full with mold on the edges and the staff was very rude including the ones in the disney store. 1 more thing is that the hotel charges almost $10.00 a day for internet that's crazy ! never staying in this hotel again. I would stick to the hilton or the disney property hotels it self. Walt disney wouldn't agree with this if he was still alive.

Mold...lots and lots of mold. Noticed the first mold in the bathroom and asked for it to be cleaned...it was never cleaned and the kids started complaining of runny noses. Opened the curtains and found mold and spider webs around the sliding glass doors, again asked for it to be cleaned. This time a attempt to clean it was made, but only enough to remove the spider webs and some of the mold. By this time our stay in this horrid hotel was over. Parking was 10 dollars a day, extra hotel tax each day, food was dry and overcooked, internet was 10 dollars a day and couldn't upload pictures because the connection was so weak. Walls were paper thin, the conversations in other rooms and in the hallways were easy to hear. Will NEVER EVER stay in this hotel again.

This hotel was a pleasant surprise! Staff was very pleasant, bar was great, good food. Nice touch in the lobby was a chalk portrait artist, very talented. Room was clean and had pretty decor. Free shuttle service was a real bonus. The drivers were very friendly. Hotel had a nice pool, didn't have time to use it. We would stay here again while visiting Disney!

Our room was in the back near the highway! The Heat smelled like burnt hair! Yeah I know we used heat =, but it was actually cold on the 11th &12th of November. Can't beleive they Charge for a fridge! They had to make sure that their generators worked and we lost power from 1:30 am till 2:45am. My wife was in the bathroom and the ac was off and it was hot.I told the manager about it and she said that we were supposd to have gotten a paper informing us under the door. I didnt get anything. I paid $79 a night on Priceline. I give in 2-3 star not 3.5

I disliked having my company laptop and clothes (even underwear!!!) stolen from my room right after check-in while I was eating dinner. Room was locked. Had asked staff downstairs where a good restaurant was. The worst thing was the hotel staff & mgt. brushed me off, even when the Sheriff came! Nightmare stay.....

Initally we thought we got a great deal on a great hotel. We booked through priceline and bid low winning the room for a great price but boy were we in for a surprise when all the additional fees were tacked on. Of course there was the infamous "resort fee" upon arrival. Then I was surprised to find that they charge $50 for a fridge or microwave. Budget hotels provide you with those amenities at no cost to you. You can buy a microwave for that price. Next, the breakfast buffet. First off it is pricey at $12.95 per person and then to top it off they automatically charge you 18% gratuity. On a buffett. The waiter brought us a glass of juice and we never saw him again. You don't tip 18% on a buffett. Next, the WIFI. No free wireless internet either. Another perk most budget motels provide but not the Royal Plaza. $10 per day. Yup! Are you adding this all up? LOL! Last but certainly not least, to top off my stay. The sign by the shuttle that directed you where to go to catch the shuttle back to the hotel after park closure instructed guests to wait in space #86 (not sure the exact number) so there we were at midnight standing in the middle of the parking lot waiting for our bus and nothing. Luckily, I decided (after waiting until there were hardly any people left at the Magic Kingdom) to ask another bus driver if we were in the right place. Low and behold, we were not. Not even close. So.... had I not asked we would have been stranded in the middle of the night with what would have probably been a $50+ cab fee because their signs are wrong. Good news is the staff did apologize and guess what, they waived several of the above listed hidden fees. :) I sure hope they have fixed that sign because I was there with my children and husband but all I could think of was being a single mother in the parking lot at midnight waiting for a bus that was never going to come. :(

Very nice and comfortable hotel. Staff at front desk are very cooperative, Very convenient location to the theme park, outstanding shuttle bus service, rooms are neat and clean,spacious and nice overlook. Please do not hesitate for a second to stay in Royal Plaza hotel in Lake Buena Vista.

This hotel was not what we expected or paid for. First, it did not have the 15 min. shuttle service expected from other "Disney" properties--the buses came (if at all) every 35-50 minutes--additionally, we were let off ast the transportation center and not the park. When we checked in, our rooms were dirty, had broken light bulbs and a major water leak. We reported the problems and all were rectified but th ewater leak; we were given the option of mjoving into new rooms, but our rooms were the only adjoiing rooms available. So we stayed in the rooms for the stay. when checking out, I was less than excited about all the additional, unfounded charges added to the bill. Will I stay here again? Heck no.

I honestly don’t know where to start! I read a lot of review about this hotel and most of the people said, the check in process is awful because check in is not until 4pm. I thought I would avoid that problem because I was taking a late flight, and decided to give this hotel a try.....BIG MISTAKE! If you’re planning on going there...do yourself a favor...Don't! We got there about midnight Friday night only to find out that they had no rooms available, and asked us to stay in another hotel, about 5 minute drive, and the only thing they would do for us is credit us that first night. We were furious, not only did we have to go to another room for the night we had to wait 20 minutes for all the paper work and a cab. (Just imagine…..you just got off a flight, your there for only 4 days, and all you want to do is just relax, only to find out, you got to drag your stuff to the other hotel, unpack for the night, pack again in the morning. They didn’t even offer us a free breakfast. They didn’t call us in advance to warn us about the situation of no room availability. I even called them around 3pm that day to tell them when we will be checking in to make sure it goes smoothly. The next day we had to come back to the hotel. They told us they are going to "upgrade" us with a better room! So what did we get....Instead of having a king size bed, (what I booked in the first place) they gave us a room with two small beds (full size) it was so bad that my husband and I barely fit. The view in the room was horrible. The TV is ancient. (I think the "upgrade" was that they gave us the first room available so we wouldn’t wait till 4pm to check in! The beds were not comfortable at all...not like they advertise...But we were so fed up with have to move again that we just stayed in that room. All the guests in the Hotel were frustrated with the keys to the room. The hotel was having trouble with their locks, so every time we had to come in to the room we needed to make a stop by the guest services to have someone come up and open our door. The pool was not only small but dirty. Seemed to us like no one cleans it. The "Restaurant" they have on premises has a decent menu. However, you can't even have a sit down breakfast unless you’re getting the buffet breakfast for $13.99. That’s just crazy! So overall I find this hotel to be a complete waist of money. And suggestion all of you who are reading this, not to go!!!!!!!! I give this hotel zero stars!
