Sarasota Suites, Sarasota

We went on a last minute trip to Sarasota and booked a room here the morning of our flight. The photos online are VERY deceiving!!! We arrived and entered the lobby to check in. There were 2 people behind the counter (dressed horribly, hair barely brished...not a pleasant 1st impression), When we were finally able to check in and go to our room, we were appalled. The rooms have kitchenettes and this one was very recently used and not cleaned. The room reeked of food...pasta and I'm not sure what else. The bathroom was filthy and the tub floor was slimy. I went to the front desk and informed them. The girl offered to move us. I took the key to the replacement room and went back up and we both walked over to take a look. It was worse! The floors were visibly dirty. Back to the desk and return of that key. We spent the nite in the original room, kept our socks on when we went to bed and the couple of times we had to walk the short distance to the bathroom or to grab something out of one of our bags, they were black on the bottoms. We checked out at 7:30am the next morning and went to the Golden Host down the street....WAAAAAYYYYYYYYY BETTER!

My wife and I stayed in this facility for three weeks in Dec07/Jan08 due to a family illness. The staff was extremely cordial and helpful. Steve checked us in and let us see a room first. It was clean and comfortable, especially the bed. Steve, Sylvia and Dean (the manager) were very attentive to our needs. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

I needed a hotel for 6 weeks. i was relocating to Sarasota from atlanta for a new job, and found the suburban hotel. their rates were in my price range and close to my new office. they had a pool which was great for my wife and kids. they also had a kitchen which we needed for such a long stay.

The hotel is very pretty on the outside however there were numerous issues with this hotel. Because I paid an unusually low rate, I did not expect much. The sheets were really dirty, the room smelled, I only received one pillow(they took the other because it was dirty), the matresses are very hard, the dishes were rusty, and the pots were so thin you couldn't turn the stove up past medium. You don't get maid service so you have to find them to get tissue, towels,etc. There is no free breakfast. However, I would recommend it for a long term stay becasue of the price; just bring your own sheets, silverware, plug-ins, and dishes.Oh yeah, the wireless internet works.

Employees are very friendly. Wanda, The Front Desk Manager, was very helpful in pointing out attractions and restaraunts. She is great. New Management took over the property while we were there and its looking better already. Rooms are clean and housekeepers are honest
