Other Than the S&M Convention...
My biggest complaint? They had booked a convention for over 300 S & M fanatics. I'm not kidding here. The group (Masters & Slaves United, I think the T-shirts read) members were everywhere in the hotel, sometimes having inappropriate conversations. Normally, I would just forget about it, but I had my 8-year-old with me and this made it truly difficult to navigate the lobby, restaurant and pool area. I will say that they had a restricted ballroom area off the lobby and most of the activities seemed to take place there, away from public view. As I was checking out, the apparent host of the event told the manager, "We'll be back next year!" I thought, we won't! I would have appreciated knowing this prior to booking the hotel. I know I would have chosen a different hotel for this specific trip with my child.
Otherwise, this hotel was adequate, especially for the price. The best thing was the location and the pool. Even though it was being repaired when we got there, by day three it was filled back up and ready to go. The hotel was clean even if it was showing some serious age. The staff was kind and helpful.
