Wonderful experience- great hotel
They do an awesome job of making this 100 year old hotel look brand new. Everything is classy, from the wonderful bellmen and the lobby entrance to the very large, well upkept rooms. The beds are very soft, the temperature control was easy to use and it worked perfectly and the bathroom was large and had a shower that did what you wanted it to do- good pressure and temperature- Nothing like a cold shower in the morning that has to be rushed to start your day off on the wrong foot.
There is also a nice little bar around the corner looking at 10 o clock when you come out of the hotels main entrance- not sure of what street that is. It is an Irish place called Mackey's- a TON of beer on tap and some great tunes in the jukebox. Not huge, but comfortable and not ridiculously priced. DON'T... I repeat DON'T go to Recessions which is located to the left of Mackey's. I think there is a Pakistani wanna be cell planning world domination down there- crazy dudes and a memorable, yet disturbing experience.
The strip club up the road Camelot isn't too bad either. We went on a Tuesday night and 5 out of the 6 girls there were nice. #6... not so much. Snaggletoothed whore.
Back to the Mayflower... definaltely recommend. Friendly people, very large comfortable rooms and great location.
