Years of dining, evening buffets, Sunday brunches!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/4/09
Living in Norwalk where the Silvermine Inn and Restaurant has been a landmark, the restaurant has been the best location for evening buffet dinners and great social get-together spot for Sunday brunch. for years, Bring back the Silvermine Inn and Tavern, again, for many new years into the future. Revive the buffets and brunches. Renovate the inn and restaurant and find some new staff that likes their restaurant work. I love the place!

Good bye
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/22/09
Say Good bye. For this great 1700 hotel, resterant is closing. It should go to the histoical society. I have many memories as a child growing up and having many holidays at this the tavern. The old gift store was great. I moved away and now I live in California. It is a shame to see it be closed. It is New England at it's best. I will never be able to take my husband to this great hotel. Jacquelin Norton - Daugherty

Thumbs down

We really didn't like the food, our waitress was no help picking out a dish, and the ambiance was fair, at best

If you want bad food and bad service go here!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/8/07
The place was falling apart, needed plaster, paint and a good cleaning. The $22.95 Sundy brunch was nothing better than the $5.95 Denny's special! You get your one cup of coffee and have to beg for a second cup! They had to include the tip in the check because you didn't get any service to tip for.

Lovely historic inn
By guest, 9/7/07
While my boyfriend and I were traveling through 9 states on the east coast we were only able to stay one night at the Silvermine. It's a charming inn, very clean and well maintained historic building. With our very fast paced trip, it was nice to have a night to relax. Very romantic setting as well with the creek behind the inn.

excellent long stay
By robertaw, 3/8/07
for personal reasons had to find a place to stay for one month. could not have chosen a friendlier, more helpful, more beautiful place...was given special rate, very helpful and accommodating staff, secluded country location yet very close to major area and transportation to NYC.

Beautiful Spot
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/26/06
Just got back to Texas after spending the weekend at the Silvermine Tavern. It is a beautiful place to unwind for the weekend. No TV, cellphone reception, internet access. Wonderful to get reconnected to a loved one.
