Norwalk Inn and Conference Center, Norwalk

The staff was very hospitable and were attentive to our needs. We stayed in their standard Deluxe room. It was very clean, the bed was very cozy and quite large, and it was equipped with everything you would expect. The bar area was fantastic. We spent most of our time at the restaurant and in the lounge with friends which was an incredibly good time. Since we don't have any kids both of those areas were a bit more laid back, and we felt right at home. The rest of the grounds were very well kept and the location is just about the best. We took a couple walks on the sidewalks that goes around the city hall and other nice neighborhoods near the hotel. I do want to note that we ate at Adam's Rib Restaurant the night before we left and the service there was outstanding, the food was devine. Overall, we had a great time, between the extremely well-thought out room layout, the front desk and maid service and the bar. We will definatley return.

My family of 2 adults 2 children (aged 9 and 6) stayed at Norwalk Inn as an alternative to expensive New York City for our annual vacation. We stayed 10 days and 9 nights. Hotel room was amazingly comfortable, the pillows and beds were better than I could hope for. I slept more peaceful than I had in a long time, the whole family did. Service from staff, transportation to train (saving of $11 a day parking), quality of hotel (superb), room service till late (milk and cookies for boys - nice touch), sense of space in room was great. Excellent breakfast's, boys loved Belgian waffle station, pancakes and eggs, restaurant had great food and great service, again! The savings was an average of about $150 a night for a short train ride into beautiful Grand Central Station, Big Apple. Inn provides shuttle service, you can't beat. Only regret is we didn't think of Norwalk Inn years ago. Would we go back - yes definately for the town, the savings and the top-quality hotel.

Visited for a long weekend getaway with my daughter and we had a great time. Everything we asked for was given to us with a smile, like: extra blankets, more pillows, and directions to all kinds of places. I travel alot in the NY, NJ, CT area, and this hotel has the best staff I've encountered on the East Coast. Our hotel rooms were extremely clean and nicely put together; they had everthing we could want, utlra plush beds, linen, towels and there is a no-charge policy for everything in your room from free bottles of water to the guest laptop you can use at a drop of a hat. The hotel's staff gave me this 'home away from home' feeling and we really enjoyed the weekend and the bar was excellent too.

The room appreared to be very clean. The bathroom is OK. The thermostat is a bit confusing. I didn't get a chance to eat the breakfast as I left by 6:00am. No elevators, so be prepared to carry your bags upstairs. Close to the highway. Nice people.

We come here every year for the Oyster Festival in Sept. and all I can say is we are treated extremely well and have a great time every year. The rooms were clean and the staff was super-attentive. The beds feel like they are stuffed with the most comfortable feathers. One of our favorite places to stay. 5 minutes away from Washington Street (we love the live music and nightlife), where there's lots to see and do on the water. The hotel restaurant opens for breakfast early and the spread was delicious. We had a chance to sit poolside for a candel-lit dinner and the fare was fantastic. The food was unbelievably good and they've developed a great reputation. A very nice place, highly recomended.

It's basically the best possible alternative to the chain hotels, which all look the same after a few trips. Pretty attentive staff, about the best possible location for Fairfeild County, very economical. Recomended.

My wife and I stayed here on a weekend in May for a wedding (not held on site). The first impression was disappointment because of the small size of the room and the tired look of the entrance / parking; however, it grew on us, so to speak. Exceptionally clean, some useful conveniences (a mini fridge, small vanity outside of bathroom, large armoir with enough drawers, multiple phones with speaker / internet) and a very comfortable bed (it was clear that all beds were being replaced with new ones while we were there). When coupled with the rate (under $100), convenient access to I-95 and Route 1 and some other features of the property (onsite restaurant, ample self-parking), we left with a sense of having received very good value. Would not recommend more than 2 people per room (even w/ kids) and beware of a couple of awkward room locations (e.g., 119 - directly inside rear entrance and opposite vending and a small common area), but with those cautions and reasonable expectations given the rate, the Norwalk Inn should leave you more than satisfied.

ugh. the hotel is dated and offers few amenities. i had trouble with getting in to my room with the key they issued. when i asked to change room i instead was offered assistance in opening my room door. one of the staff escorted me back to my room and proceeded to unlock my door explaining that i should jiggle the key a certain way, then i would have no trouble. this hotel is depressing.
