Niantic Motel, Niantic

I read the review from one person and having stayed at Days Inn's before figured we would go. Dirty, entire place, dead bug in bath room and the mirrors were not cleaned at all. The only good thing was Starbucks next door. Even the "continenal breakfast" was not clean.

We stayed here in deference to the Microtel in Uncasville not being available. We've since left this property to go to the Sleep Inn next door and continue to suggest that people do the same. One time we stayed there, they were doing construction work on the pool area, outside our room. The front desk promised work would not start until 9a. They started at 7:30a. Rude awakening. The place needs an overhaul, no doubt about it. The place is adequate, but is not up to the Days Inn standards.

Check in was quick, but the rooms need more cleaning. My mom's room had a dirty male underwear in the drawer and cigarette box and trash in the other drawers. The bathroom toilet seat was broking, it would move. The TV remote did not work, the front desk sent a new one. My room the refrig had beer cans, and soda that exploded in it. I called the front desk and they sent someone to clean it, but mind you they cleaned it and put the bottles back in. We had dirty towels in the bathroom with stains on it, it was hanging up behind the door. We asked housekeeping if we get clean towels and she said no, we use the same ones until we checkout. My fiance had to tell her that we have dirty ones in our rooms, that where there when we checked in. So they put clean ones in both our rooms. No TV remote in our room, we called received new one but it didn't work, so we just put it on, and changed the channel the old fashion way, by hand. It is a great location, everything is close by.

Usually days inn's are quite nice. Not this one. It looks as if its been about 10 years since they have updated anything. My room had a afwul awful odor. It wasnt all too clean. I will not return. Expecially for what they charge in comparrison to other hotels in the area. I guess if your desperate and need a bed- it works though

if they call donut and muffin and cookie a continental breakfast,go ahead..there was no juice,no milk,no fruit...there was flys all around the table where they had the donuts at... brochure said they had a shuttle to casino and restaurant on site
