WILL NOT STAY HERE AGAIN
By VCB, 10/6/10
The room itself was relatively nice and quiet, but not very clean. The hotel was depressing and dirty and the area of town is scary and deserted.

My new "go to" hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/6/07
My recent 5 night stay at the East Hartford Holiday Inn was great! As soon as I arrived, I was upgraded to a suite (fridge & micro) at no add'l cost. The place is very clean (except for the stairwell) and the staff is gracious, helpful, and accommodating. The breakfast buffet is delicious (lots of choices). The exercise room could use some attention though... The hotel is located in a very safe area only a few miles from downtown Hartford. All in all, I had a fabulous stay.

Stay in Your car !!!! It would be better
By Edrow, 6/26/07
I stayed here on business. It would have been better to just sleep in my car. Now lets face it Holiday Inn is one of those hotel that can be nice or can be so so it just depends, but this one in terrible. The staff was rude and seemed uninterested in doing anything to make the customers happy. The place was not clean ie: trash cans over flowing, stains on the carpet, and when trying to get anything done the staff was too busy talking on thier cell phones to care. Bottom line STAY SOMEWHERE else.... motel six will leave the light on for you.... Atleast that is something

Smelly!
By Donnadev, 6/26/06
We booked two rooms. They were side by side on the fourth floor. Each had awful smells as you entered. I want to say it was a damp, moldy smell. Ugh, not good for the allergies, that's for sure. Another person with me thought it smelled like stale cigars even though we were in a non-smoking room. I think it was something under the rugs. We went into the bar later that evening and the smell was so strong in there that we left without even finishing our drinks. It was THAT bad. Other than the smell, I can't really say anything else negative. The staff was very nice and the rooms were clean. The elevators were old and loud. We did go check out the pool which was large and looked to be clean and in good shape. The location was prime as far as getting where we needed to go. We didn't eat breakfast there because we were afraid the smell would be in the restaurant, too. It is a large, older hotel and does seem to need some rennovations done. I am sorry to say that I would never go back because of the smell.

Great Stay
By janet, 4/14/06
After we had to leave the hotel next door abruptly the Holiday Inn was wonderful in finding us a room for the next night The hotel was very nice and very clean. Although they do not have any kind of breakfast buffet they do have a restaurant that serves breakfast and they are also very helpful in directing you to places that serve breakfast. I recommend this hotel very highly and would stay there again.

Home away from home
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/17/06
I stay on the road for months at a time and the staff here makes you feel like your part of the family and not just a guest. The restaurant and bar on site is great especially in the winter months. The rooms are big and always clean. There are lots of TV channels and the free wireless internet is a big plus. It's a great value too!

Friendly Staff
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/16/06
Loved the staff. Even though the hotel is old the staff makes it a great place to stay. They are very helpful and try to cater to your every need. I really enjoyed my stay and felt like it was my home away from home.

This is a junkyard
Have a very bad smell like cigarrette on every floor. Door locks are not working propertly. Air conditioners are noisy and they open your mail. Not recomended at all.

It still itches
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/16/05
I literally caught something at this place. I suspect the blanket wasused as a specimen depository in another life. Do your self a favor and find another place to stay unless you truly enjoy serious skin infections. The only positive point is that the staff is not completely useless, they provided me some free lotion to sooth the itchy-ness.
