Best Danbury Hotel
By Todd, 10/29/09
I travel on business coast to coast most of the year, and bar none, the Ethan Allen Hotel is a refreshing change when I'm back in Connecticut. The chain hotels like Marriott & Starwoods are nice & consistent, however, what I like about Ethan Allen is it's "homey" comfortable atmosphere, and you cannot beat the great food in their restaurant or bar - better than most restaurants in Danbury, and, not overpriced. I look forward to the Happy Hour and my many engaing conversations with Bob at the bar. I highly recommend the Ethan Allen Hotel!

Amazing!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/29/09
There have been many positive changes since my last visit a year ago. Numerous dining specials like Pasta Wednesday and Prime Rib or Lobster Fridays, plus Happy Hour with discounted drink & appetizer prices - the food and service is outstanding. The Bartender told me they were just voted Best Sunday Brunch in Fairfield County. Highly recommend this hotel for accommodations and dining!

I Do Not Recommend this Place, SURLY STAFF; AVOID
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/01/09
Many things I disliked about this place. Most of all the surly and unpleasant and unhelpful front desk staff. They are rude, and do not offer any customer service. The girl at the front desk argued with me about a 30 minute late check out, and the entire hotel was EMPTY!. She never asked if i enjoyed my stay, and gave me dirty looks the whole time i was paying my bill. this place is very unprofessional. I do not recommend it. The rooms are not very clean, carpet stained., and there are no tables in the suites, just a couch. When I went to buy sanitary napkins and aspirin, she laughed and said she was sorry I had my period and had a headache. How unprofessional!

Ethan Allen Hotel - great place to hold a meeting
By Shannon, 10/30/08
I stay at The Ethan Allen Hotel in Danbury frequently on business. It has been my favorite hotel for some time, because of the friendly staff, very comfortable rooms and great restaurant. I would not stay any place else in Danbury. However recently I had to plan a small corporate meeting, something that I had not done before. I called the Ethan Allen and for the first time worked with the sales and catering team. I was so impressed with their professionalism. They helped me from soup to nuts and made sure that the event came off without a hitch. I was so relieved and received high marks for a successful meeting. I am so loyal to the group at The Ethan Allen I just had to write this review and recommend this hotel to anyone who needs a Danbury hotel or meeting place

A good value in Danbury.....
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/07/08
The Ethan Allen Inn was better than I anticipated. The room was nice and very clean. The only true negatives were the TV's in the room. The TV's could use updating. In the sitting room part of the room , the TV was small and antiquated. The TV in the bedroom area was a little better. The location is near 84 which was perfect and the large mall in the area was less than 2 miles away. All in all I was very happy with my stay and I look forward to returning in the near future when business dictates.

Best hotel in Danbury - great rooms and service
By Linda, 02/23/08
I have been staying in a few Danbury hotels lately because my business with GE Capital has increased. I tried a few of the chains and then heard about The Ethan Allen Hotel in Danbury from some people at GE. I decided to try it. What a lovely surprise and delight the Ethan Allen Hotel is. I am usually a chain gal since it is easy and you normally know what you are getting, but I think I’ll start trying more independent hotels after this experience. Perhaps it was the comfy Ethan Allen furniture spread all over the place making the hotel feel like a cozy home. The feeling was warm, not industrial, like you sometimes get in a hotel. The homelike feeling made coming in at night inviting and I have to say the staff at the front desk was just as welcoming. I love it when they greet you with a hello and make eye contact. It was like they remembered me each day. What else did I like? The high speed internet in the rooms and the snack bar open 24 hours. Sometimes I don’t like the fuss of room service and a big dinner, so I can go down there and get a few yogurts and healthy snacks and cuddle up for the night getting work done. And for breakfast, I love the bright solarium in the restaurant. It makes a great start to the day. I am so glad I found The Ethan Allen Hotel in Danbury. They have one strong convert!

Great business hotel in Danbury
By Sonia, 02/04/08
I stayed at The Ethan Allen Hotel on business last week. What a surprise. I only just heard about this little gem from a friend. It is located right beside the Ethan Allen Furniture Headquarters and of course is filled with Ethan Allen furniture. Clever. Makes the place feel like home. With great food, good Internet connections and a good location near the interstate, this is a find that I’ll keep coming back to time and time again. No need to stay at one of the cold chain hotels again.

Ethan Allen poor results
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/04/08
Lodging at Ethan Allen, was like going to a super 8 motel, but with 75% of its furniture deriving from the US. I was very displeased with the lack of knowledge when it comes to a question I asked,"What year is the Ethan Allen Furniture in my room, Mam?" And she says,"2007 of course!" I pulled out my treasury that I was given and she could not find the furniture. I told her that this hotel must be updated andto think I paid over 200 dollars for this! I'm so unhappy!!! AND by the way, I like Haverty's now!

Definately not VIP - but VIP price
By Tanya R, 08/06/07
Unfortunaly we found far more dislikes than likes during our stay at this hotel. We checked into one of the VIP suites. We quickly noticed that the room was not up to any “VIP standards” The carpet was stained throughout the suite. 3 out of the four chairs were badly stained as well. A high-end furniture store like Ethan Allan should do much better! There appeared to be mildew spots on the ceiling tile above the bed. The closet door was jammed and off its track. The bathroom was nice BUT the toilet seat was broken and there were water stains on the ceiling. The TV was placed in the one area that unless you did some serious furniture rearranging you could only watch from the bed. The sitting area was primarily useless. The view is very disappointing. The room is situated on the ground floor. The window was facing one of the side entrances to the hotel. Our view was of a brick wall, an ashtray and gravel. Obviously it being an entrance, people were coming/going and smoking. This made it impossible to open the curtain to let ANY natural light come through. There was no turn down service, no bottled water, and no chocolates as advertised. When checking out, I expressed my unhappiness and received 0 acknowledgment, not even an apology. I am a firm believer of getting what you pay for which is why I booked the suite to begin with. One expects a certain standard with a “VIP/Bridal Suite”. We paid the price for the “Ultimate in luxury” experience but got a below sub-standard room. To say I was disappointed would be a huge understatement.

Would stay again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/23/07
I was a guest for a wedding and found all the staff to be helpful. From the moment I checked in at the front desk, even to the servers at the reception. I forgot to mention that I could not eat one of the items served for dinner and a new meal was happily bought out to me. My stay was comfortable and relaxing and the breakfast brunch was great too! I would go back again if I ever need to stay in the area. Also my dog was allowed to stay for only $15. There are not too many pet friendly hotels.
