Brunch - definitely not the second sitting
By ,
We had a reservation for the second Brunch seating at 1pm. When seated we had to ask for the appropriate silverware and water glasses. They said they were setting up for dinner and had already re-set the tables. There are 3 stations: breakfast, luncheon and dessert. You are supposed to be able to choose from all. At 1:30 we were told that they were closing the breakfast portion at that moment and we should take whatever we wanted before they closed. At 2:15 we were asked to finish our meal, as "the restaurant has been closed since 2pm". I asked why they didn't tell people that they only had an hour to eat at the second sitting when reservations were made? They said they are normally open until 3, but they are not busy so they closed at 2. I said we had not finished our meal and had not even gone to the dessert section. They had the waitress bring 3 desserts over to us and told us to choose one of them. This was one of the only times the waitress came voluntarily. We had to hunt for her when we needed coffee or water. We were extremely uncomfortable and left shortly after and noticed the other table left quickly also. I would not recommend at all.

Great for business travel
By ,
PROS: Good location, not many hotels in Danbury. Food is excellent for a hotel, can't go wrong with the 1/2 price happy hour apps. They also have a upscale menu that is great as well. Bob the bartender is OUTSTANDING!! CONS: TV's are old. Can get noisy, doors to room slam loudly!! Staff doesn't go out of way to make you feel comfortable, however, I disagree with calling them "rude"

Danbury's Best!
By ,
As an IBM Business Consultant, I spend many a night in Danbury, and had stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn, however, was "walked" (which made me highly upset might I add) to the Ethan Allen Hotel. Once there, I thoroughly enjoyed the comfort of my King Suite with separate bedroom and sitting room, outstanding staff members (Kudos to Bob in the Lounge, Scott in Restaurant, and Ivy at Front Desk). And for a hotel restaurant, they have the best food in Danbury, hands down! You CANNOT beat their Happy Hour food & drinks, and their weekly dining specials are outstanding! On my kast stay last week, I was pleasnalty surprised they had upgraded their guestroom coffee machines to Keurig with the k-cups, which is great since this is what I have at home. By far, this hotel is doing it right, and treats their customers well - I highly recommend Ethan Allen Hotel when looking for a hotel in Danbury.

Amazing!!
By ,
There have been many positive changes since my last visit a year ago. Numerous dining specials like Pasta Wednesday and Prime Rib or Lobster Fridays, plus Happy Hour with discounted drink & appetizer prices - the food and service is outstanding. The Bartender told me they were just voted Best Sunday Brunch in Fairfield County. Highly recommend this hotel for accommodations and dining!

I Do Not Recommend this Place, SURLY STAFF; AVOID
By ,
Many things I disliked about this place. Most of all the surly and unpleasant and unhelpful front desk staff. They are rude, and do not offer any customer service. The girl at the front desk argued with me about a 30 minute late check out, and the entire hotel was EMPTY!. She never asked if i enjoyed my stay, and gave me dirty looks the whole time i was paying my bill. this place is very unprofessional. I do not recommend it. The rooms are not very clean, carpet stained., and there are no tables in the suites, just a couch. When I went to buy sanitary napkins and aspirin, she laughed and said she was sorry I had my period and had a headache. How unprofessional!

Ethan Allen Hotel - great place to hold a meeting
By ,
I stay at The Ethan Allen Hotel in Danbury frequently on business. It has been my favorite hotel for some time, because of the friendly staff, very comfortable rooms and great restaurant. I would not stay any place else in Danbury. However recently I had to plan a small corporate meeting, something that I had not done before. I called the Ethan Allen and for the first time worked with the sales and catering team. I was so impressed with their professionalism. They helped me from soup to nuts and made sure that the event came off without a hitch. I was so relieved and received high marks for a successful meeting. I am so loyal to the group at The Ethan Allen I just had to write this review and recommend this hotel to anyone who needs a Danbury hotel or meeting place

A good value in Danbury.....
By ,
The Ethan Allen Inn was better than I anticipated. The room was nice and very clean. The only true negatives were the TV's in the room. The TV's could use updating. In the sitting room part of the room , the TV was small and antiquated. The TV in the bedroom area was a little better. The location is near 84 which was perfect and the large mall in the area was less than 2 miles away. All in all I was very happy with my stay and I look forward to returning in the near future when business dictates.

Best hotel in Danbury - great rooms and service
By ,
I have been staying in a few Danbury hotels lately because my business with GE Capital has increased. I tried a few of the chains and then heard about The Ethan Allen Hotel in Danbury from some people at GE. I decided to try it. What a lovely surprise and delight the Ethan Allen Hotel is. I am usually a chain gal since it is easy and you normally know what you are getting, but I think I’ll start trying more independent hotels after this experience. Perhaps it was the comfy Ethan Allen furniture spread all over the place making the hotel feel like a cozy home. The feeling was warm, not industrial, like you sometimes get in a hotel. The homelike feeling made coming in at night inviting and I have to say the staff at the front desk was just as welcoming. I love it when they greet you with a hello and make eye contact. It was like they remembered me each day. What else did I like? The high speed internet in the rooms and the snack bar open 24 hours. Sometimes I don’t like the fuss of room service and a big dinner, so I can go down there and get a few yogurts and healthy snacks and cuddle up for the night getting work done. And for breakfast, I love the bright solarium in the restaurant. It makes a great start to the day. I am so glad I found The Ethan Allen Hotel in Danbury. They have one strong convert!

Great business hotel in Danbury
By ,
I stayed at The Ethan Allen Hotel on business last week. What a surprise. I only just heard about this little gem from a friend. It is located right beside the Ethan Allen Furniture Headquarters and of course is filled with Ethan Allen furniture. Clever. Makes the place feel like home. With great food, good Internet connections and a good location near the interstate, this is a find that I’ll keep coming back to time and time again. No need to stay at one of the cold chain hotels again.
