Avoid this place-it's cheap but should be free!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/15/09
This place is disgusting and really not a habitable and ready for occupancy. Although the owners were very nice I was disgusted with the place it is a mess. Everything needs need redone. The paint the bathrooms, the kitchette. Broken windows, curtain missing and falling off. hopefully somebody really will improve this place as it does have a nice location.

Finally have good managers
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/04/08
We stayed there before and was really disappointed, our stay this time was excellent. The rooms where very clean, appeared that the new managers had kicked all the worthless crack heads out. The managers made sure we had everything to make us comfortable. I would stay there anytime as long as the new managers stay. Keep up the good work and hope to see you again.

can't wait to bypass this absurd place
By Jocelyn, 10/22/08
this is a barely functioning place. tv did not work at all --room dirty, two lights out....somebody left a obscene drawing at our doorstep in the morning....broken Harley in the packing lot by a car with no hood and a tire on the motor....no toilet paper and the manager gave us wrong keys twice! on a cross country fly fishing trip this was by far the worst place we stayed in and the AAA approved sign outside must be from another millinium....avoid this dump at all costs.

Stole my money
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/29/08
I made a reservation to stay at the Lofthouse Inn. The charge came out of my bank account within one business day. I called two days after making the reservation to cancel and explained we had a change of plans. Six weeks later I'm still waiting to be reimbursed. I've called numerous times and have been assurred on four seperate occaisions that they would return my money. They stopped returning my phone calls and now they are not even answering the phone.

It's a Crack House! Danger! Danger!
By Donegals, 08/04/08
The web site would make a person think this would be a great little place for a family of four to stay. We reserved the two room "suite", but once we pulled into the parking lot and saw derilicts smoking and drinking in the parking lot around their trashed-out cars we were worrisome. We checked out the room which hasn't been renovated since the 1950's, and smelled like a morgue, and we asked for a full refund. We are now fighting with the Lofthouse to get that refund as they recharged my credit card the full amount, so now I've been charged twice for a hotel I didn't stay at. The place is disgusting and we feared for our safety from the "weekly residents", who looked like drug dealers. Other hotels and business employees are very familiar with the crimes at the Lofthouse as we were told last year there were two seperate arrests in the same month for people running "meth labs" in their rooms at the Lofthouse. The place should be burned to the ground.

Give it a try!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/18/08
We drove from Gunnison on a nice summer day, but everyone was tired of driving and no one quite wanted to leave the mountains for the plains just yet. We had a suite just above the office. It wasn't fully renovated yet, but even so we were happy for all the space--a kitchen, a room with a couch for our daughter, a separate bedroom for parents. All at a reasonable price. As you can see from the other reviews, this establishment needs and is (perhaps slowly) getting some attention. Just ask to see a room and if you like it, take it. There was nothing major wrong with ours--a bit dated, but so what?

We could not stay!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/19/07
Although the owner was very pleasant, and the space would have been great, we could not have stayed in the room we had for the entire week. The carpet was threadbare and looked dirty, and the room smelled. Apparently we did not have one of the renovated rooms. I wish the owners luck, because Woodland Park is a great location, and The Lofthouse does have some amazing views. I would not, however rent out a room until it has been renovated.

Best kept secret in the Rockies
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/30/07
The Lofthouse is great little getaway inn. As others have said, the view and location is perfect. Our room was comfortable, and the kitchen was very useful when we were snowed-in. It is within walking distance of everything in Woodland Park too. The new owners are seem to be working 24-7 to refurbish and renovate all the rooms (ours hadn't been yet), and were extremely responsive and interested in our comfort and convenience. Definitely will return as soon as practicable.

Disappointed beyond belief
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/13/06
After checking out their website and thinking this sounded like a wonderful place to stay, we made reservations. When we arrived, we found not only the office unorganized and in dis-array (our first clue), but the room was terribly musty, filth in the kitchen cabinets, used cookware in the oven, ripped furniture and carpet, and a non-locking exterior door. Needless to say, we didn't stay. A severe disappointment as we had hoped this might be a highlight of our vacation, staying at a nice place with a nice view. At least, the view was nice...
