Waste of money, rude staff
By anyhoooo, 01/22/09
After wanting to visit Vail all of my life, we finally booked a trip and chose this resort to stay in. The staff was so rude that it was hard to enjoy the trip. When I complained to the GM, they acted like they could care less. For this price, I would expect more !! I wrote Marriott and complained and never heard a reply from them - which obviously shows that NO ONE CARES. Rooms were nice, bed was comfortable and clean - but, I could have paid way less and got a little respect?? !! GEEESHHHHHH

Most Overpriced Vail Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/27/06
I was there with 5 friends from Feb. 24-26th we got 2 rooms for over $400/ each per night for a standard. Big waste of money. This is a hotel w/ rooms just a touch better then a Hampton Inn. Rooms are small, cramped with so much ski gear. Coffee and Tea will cost $4 xtra// Restaurant closes early, no late night room service. Spa is like a sports med dept at college. massage rooms are off major walkway to pool// yes you'll hear the kids running. I had a family stop outside my room as they apparently ran into someone they knew, loud laughing stressful experience, and hotel would not refund massage. Not even a discount. Major Construction around hotel, not going to be completed for a couple years. Adds to noise all day long. If you're used to high end hotels you will not like this spot. If you stay at Best Westerns or Comfort Inns, You'll probably enjoy it. It's more geared toward families. Beware walls are paper thin, you'll hear neighbors conversation word for word or in our case, snore for snore. Staff is friendly but, bell hop did say he usually gets more then the $10 I gave him. I'd stay at the Hyatt in Beaver Creek or pay a little extra and rent a condo. By the Way with the construction Lions Head is completely dead.. meaning no restaurants or nightlife to enjoy. Those looking for a party need to stay closer to Vail Village.

I will never Forget this place!
By Lacey, 08/29/05
The Marriot Mountain Resort and Spa in Vail was the most luxurious hotel I have ever seen! There was an extravagant crystal chandelier in the large airy entrance way and beautifully carved wooden steps going up and down each side of the concierge's desk. There was fine furniture meticulously placed outside of the restrooms, which were elegantly designed with dark, calming colors. The rooms had big, fluffy beds, with soft pillows and satin sheets. The comforter was so soft and light it felt like a warm and gentle embrace. The rooms were warm colored and they had lovely patios with comfortable chairs and beautiful views of the slopes! This hotel greatly exceeded my expectations in style, comfort, elegance, location, night life, cleanliness, and customer satisfaction. The spa and pool area were very clean and the staff was very friendly. The pool was kept at a comfortable temperature and it was large. The valets were fast, and the hotel was located right next to the slopes. One could walk to them. There were many handsome places to visit as well as people to see! I love this hotel and this town!! Everything was so close, that there was hardly any driving to do. The Marriott Mountain Resort and Spa is the most appropriate place to stay when planning to go to Vail.

great location and amenities!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/01/05
We loved this hotel and its very welcoming staff! We used the steam room and hot tubs at least once a day. A short walk to the gondola, and door to door service on the Vail village shuttle made the location very convenient. The hotel restaurant served wonderful, freshly made guacamole. We'd also recommend using the Trail Wise Guides of Vail for x-c ski or snowshoe outings. Young, knowledgable guides bring wonderful lunches along and take you places only the locals know about.

Must go again!
By michele, 05/15/05
This was a great location! Expansive mountain views from the room. Transportation was easily accessible into Vail village. The ski shop/rentals on site had the best prices. The hot tub was large enough for people to congregate and relax after being on the slopes all day. Would definitely recommend this place to my friends.

Vail Getaway
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/20/05
Our accommodation was spacious and altho' included a kitchenette, was not used simply because of the the hotel's Mountain Grille Restaurant.

great stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/14/04
this was a perfect stay for us. service as good, location good, room was great. Only negative, hotel literature said it was ski in ski out. It was about 100 -150 yard walk to the gondola
