Horrible stay- stay away from this place!!!
By PurpelGirlStarr, 3/4/12
Although we only stayed for one night our stay was aweful. The place was rundown and very outdated. The room decor was old and dirty. Our sheets were not clean and we immediately asked that they be replaced. When we returned back to our room at night a terrible smell emanated from the corridor and was all over the room. Apparently the smell was coming from the kitchen and since the ac was not working in our room we had to sleep with the window open in 20 degree weather!! Talk about a horrible experience for a very pricy stay! We payed 250 dollars for one night!!!

A GREAT Place to Stay in Vail!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/10/10
We stayed at the Evergreen 1/23-1/30/10, and were VERY pleased with every aspect of this property. Spacious, very clean rooms, great facility overall. Staff were all very helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. Maid service was excellent - they really cleaned the room each day, not simply changed the linens. As for the food, after several evenings out wasting time and money on overpriced, average meals, we decided to "dine in" at the Altitude Club restaurant in the Evergreen. Great service, excellent food at a reasonable price. We ate our last two evening meals there and regret we didn't eat every meal at this nice quiet spot. We don't usually take time to write reviews, but we were concerned prior to our trip after reading some of the other reviews on this page. We were more than pleased witht the value we received, and want to set the record straight that the Evergreen is a GREAT place to stay in Vail!

Don't waste your money
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/24/08
The rooms were dirty. The Flinstone bed and pillows were from bedrock and the breakfast tasted like it came from circle K. The staff is super cranky and the manager has like 5 ski poles up her crack. 10 o'clock at night some employee tries to bust into the room. Thanks for privacy locks. We then told the manager and the was barely sympathetic. Hot water is all that your paying for. Over priced and not worth it. Don't forget the 5 football fields walk to the bus station, just to get to the mountian.

Needs updating
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/8/07
The hotel is very near to the Vail Village and has a nice hot tub and heated pool. Breakfast is good but they need more seating. Don't plan on a quiet breakfast as the buffet tables abutt the dining tables. The worse problem we had was the staff. They are mostly untrained foreigners whose knowledge of the area is severely lacking. They didn't know there were ski trail maps available under the desk. They gave us the wrong times for the opening of the lifts. They had no idea where the restaurants were and which were better than others. The bellman hid when we arrived so we had to lug everything up to the room. They couldn't even break a $20 bill for tips (NO MONEY - we were told in fractured English). The first room they gave us was right near a busy elevator. When I asked if it were possible to move, the girl at the desk didn't even look up and just said "NO". After getting her supervisor - with much ado - we found there were plenty of unused rooms to move into.

Location is only Plus
By Brad, 3/1/07
Great location and price for being in the middle of Vail. However, the hotel is run down, dirty and in need of serious remodeling. I paid extra for a "mountain view" and ended up with a view of the Medical clinics parking lot...I tried to complain but was only handed a complaint card and told to fill out. Not many speak english here, not a big problem but frustrating at times. Double rooms are very small( we skiied and had 2 adults/2 kids)with 6 suitcases it was very cramped. The price savings was the only thing that kept me from being more upset. " You get what you pay for"

Don't miss out
By brian, 1/10/06
This lodge had all that I was looking for with a price that was just a fraction of what the others are charging. Just a short walk to everything, with very large rooms, and super comfortable beds. If comfort and value are important, this is the lodge to stay at.

Good value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/1/05
I live in Denver and go to Vail quite often. I stay at the Evergreen most times I visit because the prices are reasonable and the location a great, right between Vail Village and Lionshead Village. I too felt compelled to write a psoitive review in response to the negatives reviews. This is not the nicest hotel in Vail, but for the price it is a great value.

A good value for Vail
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/15/05
I felt obligated to write this review due to a couple of bad reviews I read before staying here. I booked last minute and this was the only thing available on orbitz. The room I had was big. Everything was new including all of the bathroom fixtures (my pet peave is a weak shower) , furniture, carpet, etc. Free internet (I am using now) and free parking. Also close everything. Not quite ski-in ski-out but for the price it is the closest thing you will get here.

Get there quick...they will sell out.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/4/05
Great place and kind people....definitely stay there! They are between the villages, easy access to the slopes but not too close for comfort. Newly renovated rooms are great. Great breakfast buffet!
