Fantastic Place to Stay!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/4/10
My husband and I were on a motorcycle trip and stayed here. They gave us rags to wash our bike and a hose. I asked for a laundry facility and he did some for us. Great location, within walking distance of several places to eat and enjoy the local flavor. I wish everywhere we stayed was as helpful, friendly and so reasonably priced! This is the place to stay!

Great Location for Great Price!
By Mark, 8/23/09
Came with a group of friends to Steamboat for the first time last winter. We had a great time and the Alpiner was a great jumping off point for everything in steamboat. The bus transportation up to the mountain was easy to catch and it was great to be able to come back downtown at night to hit up the downtown bars. I came back with a different group of people this summer and recommend we stay at the Alpiner again. Once again, great location and great price. Downtown location was great for stopping by the rodeo, tubing the yampa and taking advantage of the great hiking and biking trails downtown. Overall a great place to stay while in steamboat. The staff was helpful in finding different things to do and places to eat. Would recommend for anyone looking to come to steamboat for a reasonable price and enjoy the town

Great Little Ski Hotel
By Steamboat, 6/17/09
We wanted to stay downtown to be close to the restaurants and our favorite restaurant Winona's so we got a recommendation from local friends and tried the Alpiner Lodge. It is at 4th an Lincoln Ave, does the basics right, the people were friendly and we got a great price. I am online now to book a trip for the weekend to mtn bike and kayak while the kids over at Howelsen Hill. Now that the Ghost Ranch is open we are hoping to take in a show. Props to being an affordable place that does it right, can't wait to get back up to Steamboat soon...

Very clean, affordable, friendly
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/30/07
There is a lot to like about this older but completely remodeled motel. It is located in the heart of downtown, so you can park and walk virtually everywhere-lots of restaurants and shops within 2-3 blocks. You can also catch the free bus in front. Somewhat modest rooms, but very clean and quiet; most have refrigerators included. The front desk and service people are very friendly and people oriented. Continental breakfast is typical but adequate. Overall what we expected and a great value.

Going back again!
By Joe, 6/23/05
Our hosts were very helpful and accomodating. We drove all night and arrived early in the morning for a snowmobiling reservation. We were given our room early at no extra charge. Try to get service like that from corporate properties. The location is the best! A full-service ski shop located next door (25 feet), with an emphasis on service. Great Mexican food next door on the opposite side of the motel, and great Italian food 2 blocks down. The heated pool with natural hot springs is a block away, and a great way to finish a day of skiing. The shuttle to the slopes (3 mi. away) picks you up for a 5 min. ride to the slopes, and drops you off less than 10 feet from the front door of the motel. This is one of the best lodging bargains and experiences I have ever had.

Great location, good price, AAA discount
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/1/05
The motel rooms are pretty typical, but what makes it so nice is the location. It's right downtown, 2 blocks from the hot springs, and there are many restaurants within 1-4 blocks. Staff is friendly too. Only problem I had is that one night the parking lot on right side of the building was full so I had to park on other side of building.
