What A Dump !
By Paul, 12/10/08
Where shall I begin...Maingate is the wrong name since it is a 3/4 mile walk to the Maingate, I've never stayed at a hotel where people were actually "living" in the room next to me with dogs and a whole family, we asked for King size beds a got fulls, which I believe is a typical ploy by the Hotel owners since I've seen the same comment by others, the property and rooms are poorly maintained, the condiction of the Hot Tub is a mess with broken AC equipment stacked outside nearby, several unhitched trailers parked around the property, inadequate parking, the shower heads were terrible, the toilet ran all night, pot smoke filled the air from the room next door and there were some VERY questionable individuals around the area. Beds uncomfortable, carpet nasty and they want to charge you for a second room key. Oh yea...I would'nt feed the breakfast to my dog and we won't return...complete waste of money.

Not what was expected.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/19/08
It was nice and clean but what they called a "continental breakfast" was some disgusting kind of orange juice and some mini muffins. The shower head was a little mister type of thing, the beds were hard as a rock, and the outlets were a weird size so the plug-ins would just fall out.

Very disappointing and will not return
By Nannie, 05/09/08
The deadbolt on the door was broken. The refridgerator door would not close. The toilet kept getting plugged up. The towel rack and the toilet paper holder kept falling out of the wall. The bathroom sink was plugged up. Signs that upkeep was minimal ie corrosion and visible rotten would around bathroom door and floor. The jacuzzi area was dirty and the grounds showed signs of neglect with dry plants and old junk piled around in a corner. The continental breakfast was a farce. They had a pitcher of orange juice, coffee and packaged so called donuts that were a lump of sugar and basically not edible. The entrance to Disneyland was not close enough to walk and included a walk over the freeway. Good things were the beds were comfortable and the linen was clean. The microwave oven worked and the return to the hotel via the tram to one of the parking lots was an easy walk back to the hotel. I would not refer anyone to this hotel if they want to make their trip to Disneyland a nice memory. I'm sorry I didn't spend a few dollars more to get a decent place.

This is a good value...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/23/08
Want a nice vacation at a nice price? lol well i can tell you for sure the staff here are nice the lady up at the front was so sweet, the rooms are clean! and for the 40 we paid to stay there I was impressed! this is the best way to go if you need to be close to the park, we had so much fun and really enjoyed that the room was so close to the park. it only took us 5mins to get back to our room.

Comedy of errors?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/14/07
Or a tragedy? To start, we made reservations three months prior for a king-sized bed, yet when we showed up we were given a room with two full-sized beds. They had no answer to why our reservation was not held correctly and had no king-sized bed rooms available. We checked with other hotels and found they had king-sized bed rooms available, but we were informed by the Rodeway staff that even if we cancelled we would be charged for the first night and we would receive no discount for the mistake. The first night we found: stains on the sheets, graffiti on the TV, smoke smell in a non-smoking room, opposite hot and cold water handles, amoung other annoyances, such as the plugs on the wall outlet being so wide that you physically had to hold your appliance's plug in the outlet. Also, after a shower my wife walked into the main room, got dressed, and by the time she went to put her socks on the bottom of her feet were grey with dirt from the carpet. They were able to move us to a room with a king-sized bed for the second and third night. I could go on and on about how poor the second room was too, but you get the picture. Also, for how physically close to Disneyland you are, you are not really close to the entrance. A $3 shuttles comes by every 20 minutes, and you can walk there, but it is a 15+ minute walk with all the crosswalks and your feet will tell you "no way do I want to do this" at the end of the day. Please, please, spend $20 more a night and stay somewhere else!

great deal
By Shannon, 06/11/07
My friend and I stayed here for 2 nights at only $40 a night. We checked in really late the first night and the staff was extremely helpful. Wireless internet access a plus. Staff always very helpful and super close to Disneyland. We paid $3 each for the shuttle to Disneyland and had a free (quick) walk back through the employee parking lot. Will definitely stay here agian.

Spend the extra $$ and get something nice
By Lisa, 06/03/07
I usually don't write reviews put after reading the others and then staying at this hotel I had to. The bathroom door wouldn't close, the toilet seat was loose, there was rust all over the shower curtain and rod, the shower head was pink from hard water deposits and as my daughters put it, the bathtub was bouncy. There was no hair dryer so we had to go out of our way to purchase one. The beds were hard has a board and the pillows smelt musty. Of cousre I didn't sleep well becasue of the beds but also because the locks on the doors were the type you'd find in a bathroom stall, so I was concerned that someone would come into our room. By the second morning I was glad to be checking out and heading home. I will never stay at this place again and would recommend spending the extra $30 and getting something that is safe and smells nice.

GREAT LOCATION
By Lorraine, 05/10/07
The lady that was in charge was very nice and wanted to make sure our stay was good. The cleaning ladies were also very nice to us. The rooms were clean. But, the best thing was we could walk right into the parking lot at Disneyland and about 1/2 block futher to the trams. It was GREAT!

Good quality for the price. Great Location!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/27/06
You will be happy with your choice if you are visiting the parks during the day and want a clean, reasonably priced place for your family to sleep. We stayed from 2/22/06 to 2/26/06 and we will go back on next visit. You also had a easy walk to the tram without having to dodge traffic and keep yourself from being elbowed by the other 40 or 50 people crossing Harbor or Katella in one crosswalk. You have a short walk across the employee lot and down the walkway to the escalator for the tram. We watched the fireworks on the quiet street in front of the hotel last night, had a great view.
