Comfort Inn City Center, Los Angeles

The hotel is in a bad section of town but 10 min drive away from Staple Center. The door to the room was just stained so I ended up with stain on me a couple of times. The room was borderline "Flea bag" and I do NOT recommend this hotel to anyone (except as a joke!).

Over the last two years I have stayed here about eight times for a period of 10 days or more. When I return to the U.S. Los Angeles, in particular I have come to consider this as my home away from home. It is well located to downtown and Hollywood, and public transpòrtation is close by. Also a low price supermarket is nearby (two blocks) for snacks, food, and beverages. There are a number of restaurants within the same two block area. As a member of Choice Privileges, after I returned home I had noticed that I had been billed for local calls which is free for members. I sent an e-mail requesting a credit be sent to my credit card company. There was no response and no credit issued. I resent the letter still with no response. Another complaint that I have is that as a member of AAA and being a senior there is supposedly a discount given. When for the first time I accessed the website to show my family, I went into the rates for the type of room that I request I saw that I was charged the full rate, no discount was given. For these two reasons I have dinged the hotel a point for value and service. Therefore I must give it a good rating as opposed to excellent.

The room was nice and clean . Also the price was ok. The first room we received had a broken window and the door was not working properly. So we requested a change. Breakfast is free, but a complete mess. Location is terrible, no chance to walk around the hotel, region has nothing fine to see. Need a car.

I'd booked our room many weeks in advance in order to attend our daughter's college graduation in Los Angeles. I'd reserved a room with 2 Queen-sized beds for my husband, daughter and me. Imagine our surprise and vexation upon checking in and discovering that we'd been put in a room with one full-size bed. There were no other rooms available, so my daughter had to sleep on a very uncomfortable roll-away cot. She didn't sleep well on it, so our trip wasn't as nice as it should have been. The Comfort Inn claims that it was Yahoo travel that messed up. I have no idea who was to blame, but I just wish the mistake hadn't happened.

The Comfort Inn on 7th is decent. That is about the best that I can say. It's a little loud at night with the nearby fire station and the pool is a joke and parking can be difficult. The front desk people are extremely helpful though and the price is really affordable.
