Disappointing

I am staying here for a work conference. This room is paid for by my company so I can't move hotels --- I would if I could --- there are lots of other hotels close by that look nicer.
The Town & Country could be a charming, older hotel -- but quite frankly, it is just run down. My room is on the 4th floor in the Tower and is decorated in the 1990's style -- bright blue carpet, funky paisley bedspread and curtains, cheap uncomfortable furniture -- everything looks worn. The elevators work well, but they, too, are worn -- old carpet, dirty buttons, dirty mirrors.
On the up side -- The grounds are beautiful. This would be a great place for a wedding or large party. The pools are clean and the towels are plentiful. There are several restaurants and the food is passable. The metro is located just behind the hotel and is safe and easy to use. Most of the staff have been pleasant --- maybe not perky, but okay.
Note -- you do pay for everything here: internet is $11 per day, parking is $14 per day, no refrigerater, daily paper is at the front desk and it's a long walk to get it. I paid $9.95 for a tuna sandwich at the deli -- cheapest meal here.
