Disappointed
I stayed for 5 nights and upon entering my room was shocked to find filthy, worn carpeting. A piece of upholstery furniture was badly stained and I didn't even dare to put my purse on it. The bathroom was extremely small with the stool in front of the vanity! The hotel looks somewhat run-down and may have seen better days. When I complained about the filthy carpeting, the person at the reception was very apologetic and refunded the cost of a dinner I had at the hotel restaurant. The hotel also does not have any vending machines, only ice machines, which is really strange and also inconvenient.

Bed Bugs...Stay Away!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/18/11
I stayed for four nights at this hotel. While the staff were helpful and the facilities of the hotel were fine, I received bites over the course of my stay, some of which I noticed after I checked out. I called the hotel after I returned to NYC, and they promised they would check into it. Well, I just received word from the Hilton that my room did indeed have an infestation. Needless to say, this is a huge nightmare for me as I now have to worry about an infestation in my apartment. The Hilton has promised to pay for an exterminator to come and see if I have any bed bugs. While I appreciate the Hilton trying to make amends, I will not be staying at this hotel again.

STAY AWAY
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/19/11
Robbed in the hotel lobby!!! Was informed by police that the suspect was involved in other robberies around the neighborhood. Security was less than helpful, and was told management was not available.  To further point out the dangers of this hotel, people known to the local police department are allowed to roam all floors of the hotel and loiter in the lobby. After bringing this to the attention of the front desk, their response is that it is a public building accessible to everyone. Strange because I have stayed in many hotels where entrances are locked and only the front entrance can be used and security is actively aware of people coming and going. I am not sure about the rest of the people out there, but I know I don't feel comfortable having vagrants and apparently in this case criminals entering the hotel. To make it worse anyone can enter thru the parking garage ending up on the sixth floor where guest rooms are. Where is the security and safety for guests???? Yes the hotel is large but shouldn't there be some sense of safety and security as we walk down the hallway to the elevator. Do you really want to be asked for change as you open the door of your hotel and walk down the hall??? It's not like we are taking a stroll down the street!!! We haven't even left the hotel yet!!!! Staying here was like a nightmare. This is supposed to be a Hilton property and as such, one expects certain standards to be in place. One would expect management to address the situation and provide some kind of assistance after going through such a traumatic situation. You would probably be safer pitching a tent in Union Square than staying in this hotel.

It wasn't what I expected
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/9/11
Staff was wonderful. We got our reservations at the last minute during New Year's Eve so I was glad that they were willing to accomodate us. As soon as I walked into the bathroom I knew it wasn't cleaned properly. The bathtub on the outside was dirty, the doors had not been wiped down, there was hair all over. It was just a disguisting feeling. Everything else was fenomenal. The lobby was breathtaking. The food was beyond awesome. I plan to go back to SF in 3 months but this is definetly not the hotel I am booking. I would ot come back here and I would not recommend it for stay. The dinning is superb but that is not enough.

Glad to Depart
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/16/10
Night one: Check in was fine. We got to our room and noticed a pungent odor. It turned out to be decomposing food from a prior guest. After repeated busy signals, we were finally able to get some staff to attend to the situation. The smell drove us out of the room. The hotel was nice enough to relocate us in a new, bigger room. Very nice until the toilet stopped up the morning we were to depart. staff came up promptly to plunge the toilet.

Loved it!
By JAMESG, 7/17/10
I really had a great time. We went for a weekend getaway and found the place to be quite lovely. The room (suite) was amazing, things were expensive, yes, and I would not dare to drive or park in San Fran, so that was not a problem. The room was quiet, well clean and very confortable. I found the desk staff and the concierge to be very freindly. easy check in, easy check out.. There are a ton of homeless in San Fran but that is not the fault of the hotel. I would definately saty here again!

NEVER EVER EVER ....
By OperaFan, 6/28/10
I have stayed in everything from Best Westerns to Marriotts and we travel a lot. This hotel is trouble from minute one. The front counter was rude, concierge was rude... the gift shop people were nasty... I've never seen a worse situation in a hotel in my 20 years of traveling... Stay anywhere but here if you are going to "the city"...

Hilton Gold Member WILL NEVER STAY here again
By Lena, 3/28/10
Rude staff, rude managers, inadequate accomdations, old and musty. I am a frequent business traveler who has options, and my option is to never stay here again. As a Gold Member you expect certain extra perks, there were none at this hotel (I SHOULD HAVE STAYED AT PARC 55). As a consumer who is paying there are certain expectations of common couresty, customer service and updated accomodations. However, this Hilton had none. My complaint to the manager regarding his front desk clerk Mike, when upon deaf ears. Instead he sent me cookies and champage top try and make up for their lack of service. Do not stay here, do not stay at any SFO Hilton's. Lena

Worst time I have ever spent at a hotel
By Li M, 1/6/10
The room was very small, and we were given a standard sized bed to fit two very tall adults. I didn't have time to stop home and pick up my trip details, but I knew I booked a room with a king sized bed. The hotel rep said that it was all they had left and I was too tired to argue. That night the toilet broke. I went into the bathroom and stepped in a puddle of cold water running from the toilet. It took the hotel 2 hours to send someone up to fix it, by then we fell asleep and didn't care to get up. Then at about 4am, there was shouting and yelling in the hallway, security was already there, so we tried to go back to bed thinking they would have it under control soon, but 45mins later the noise was still there and the security guard was doing nothing so my boyfriend had to call down to reception and we waited another 30-40mins for the hallway to get quite. Upon security getting this situation under control we observed 9 individuals entering the room. The staff was rude to us like we did something wrong by staying at their hotel. I had the worst stay ever at this hotel, and would never ever stay at a Hilton Hotel again. Aside from paying for a hotel room that was the wrong room size that we requested and paid for, your hotel charges $56 per night for parking which is mind blowing. When we went to pick our vehicle up at the valet we were told that we didn’t have the correct paper work to retrieve our vehicle. The valet then continued to talk in a negative manner towards the front desk reps which was very unprofessional.
