Sundowner Inn, Sunnyvale

I hate to even give it 1 star! This place is a motel. Don't be fooled by the inflated star ratings on Orbitz and the like. My room had tattered & worn furniture, appliances from the 1970's, and stained carpet. The on-premises "gym" had ancient equipment that was an accident waiting to happen. Management was not particularly friendly and they seemed to be busy dealing with a lot of customer complaints. Not too many happy campers at the Sundowner Inn. I checked out after two nights and headed to the Hyatt Place in Fremont where I got an incredibly better room at a cheaper price.

This is the worst hotel I have stayed at in the last 10 years. Talk about false advertising. I was reluctant to give it one star. My room looked like it was decorated (and last cleaned) in 1970. The air/heating unit was impossible to control and I am afraid to even go near the shower. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL! I am recommending that my company's travel office not use this hotel ever again. What a rip off!

I don't know where those other reviews stayed, but it wasn't the same place I stayed. This is the WORST hotel I have ever stayed. The staff was only concerned about how low my rate was and how they wanted to charge extra for breakfast and Internet access (I declined both). The rooms are abysmal - dirty, moldy, rundown. The first room I went to had hairs and dirt. I requested to be switched to a different room and one of the beds in the second room had more hairs and dirt. I hope this place goes out of business. STAY FAR AWAY FROM HERE!!!!

Huge room. Great rates. Free nice breakfast. Clean. Good service. High speed internet in room. Nonsmoking room. I stayed in this hotel for 10 nights while I am looking for housing in silicon valley ( I just landed a job here), it's very comfortable.

I loved this hotel. The staff was very helpful and friendly especially by California standards. They really aim to please. Nice rooms and a lobby that always had goodies like fresh cookies, nice breakfast, etc. I'll definitely be back.
