I am not one to write reviews but in the case I felt the need to share with others considering staying the Hilton off of Grand Canal in Stockton. Where to begin? Check in was fine, room was ok a little out dated but clean. My husband and I arrived at around 2:30pm for a wedding scheduled at 6pm. We decided to grab a drink and a sandwich at the bar before getting ready for the wedding. The bartender who was waiting on the only other couple at the bar took 5 minutes to acknowledge we were even there. One acknowledged we ordered a vodka tonic and a sandwich, bartender poured a vodka collins. She fixed the drink after blaming the other bartender on switching the pour gun. After waiting 30 minutes for the sandwich I had to head to the room to get ready, could not wait any longer. My husband had to get the sandwich to go due time constraints, the lettuce was wilted, not expected for a $10. burger that took 35 min to make, but the burger tasted fine. During the wait for the burger my husband went to the front desk and ordered a cab for 5:45 pick up. All ready to go we headed down to meet the cab at 5:40 right in time to see no cab out front. Waiting until 5:48 we decided to call the cab for status the cab driver Luis #209-688-4881 AA City Cab let us know that he would be right there. We waited 5:57 (wedding starts at 6pm) I began to panic. Called the cab again. Luis told me at that point that he was waiting for someone else and would be right there. At that point we asked guest services if there was anything they could do, they said they called the cab and per Luis he was out there waiting for us at 5:45pm, which clearly was a lie. Luis with AA City Cab lied to Hilton staff members. We ended up driving ourselves as Hilton staff could offer no solutions. Although the location of the wedding was 5mins away, we still missed the ceremony. The wedding was beautiful and we had a great time regardless. After returning to the hotel I wanted to let the front desk know that it would be in there best interest as a fine hotel not to refer business to AA City Cab Luis due to bad business. Makes them look bad too. The lady behind the counter said "oh, the cab that was here at 5:45pm" I was shocked and at a lose for words. Clearly Hilton staff members sided with the Cab company vrs there paying customer who was trying to give them good advise. I missed my very good friends ceremony due to horrible customer service on so many levels. I recommend spending your hard earn money and time at the Marriott down the street. This was the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel. Finest Hotel, that's a joke. Thank you for listening.

Stockton Grand, Indeed!
By B, 10/30/08
Despite the many bad reviews about this hotel, theres are still numerous positive things to say about this establishment! I decided to stay at the hotel and give it a shot, and boy was I suprised! The staff was very helpful by informing me of the hotel's renovation, which was very much appreciated. There was noise during the construction, but nothing that could be heard from the rooms. And the rooms! BEAUTIFUL! All completely re-done with the rest of the hotel shortly trailing behind. Once the renovation is complete, say Hello to the finest full service hotel in Stockton, let alone the Central Valley! Would definitely stay again, cannot wait to see the Hotel once it's complete!

Could use some help
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/3/08
The Hotel has the location to be one of Stockton's best hotels, but unfortunately this is not the case. Although not horrible, the hotel requires revonations and care. Less than clean and somewhat shaby is the primary term I would use to discribe the hotel. The people and visitors of Stockton deserve more.

Stockton Grand Hotel?
By nottoolateforUS, 7/24/07
Stockton Grand Hotel? I can assure you that this hotels name is a misnomer. It is not grand by any stretch of the imagination. The same remodeling underway sign was in place from last year. The same shabby hallway carpet was in place from my last stay (one year ago), a wrinkled print in dire need of re-stretching. The room was modern in the early eighty's, with no upgrades since. The bed was very uncomfortable. Closet doors nonfunctional and though mirrored the lower portion was broken. The bath mirror matched as it was cracked also. Tile in the bathroom was also stained. Cool beverages in your room? Try the old fashioned way by an ice bucket in your room and an ice machine in the hall. The elevator was not maintained well. An expansive lobby could have been utilized for a great hotel setting but it too was in need of repair. Even the lobby fountain was nonfunctional and had it wiring hanging into the water. We asked for the status of the remodeling and were told that our room was refurbished. A portion of the fifth floor rooms are newly remodeled. Warning, get a guarantee of a fifth floor remodeled room or go elsewhere. Learned my lesson, Checked out after one night. Not recommended.

What? No Water Again?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/6/06
Stockton Radisson needs a competition! My husband & I booked for 4 days to attend our group's recent convention held at this hotel. There was no running water when we checked in our room & the front desk said that the water would be back after 30 minutes. Guess what! No water for 5 hours! This happened everyday of our stay there & we were very much inconvenienced. The front desk did not even apolize! The housekeepers & kitchen staff made-up for the incompetence of the management. I just wondered where the water in the kitchen came from! Hey, management, send a letter of apology to your guests if you want them to come back to you!

A Nice Hotel to Relax
By Sung, 5/16/05
At the time of my visit, Radisson hotel in Stockton were conducting a construction within the hotel and the interior of the hotel did not look too pleasing to the eye. However, there were no noise disturbances or any hinderances caused by the construction. The staff were very friendly and the room was very clean.

Stockton Radisson
By Shaun H, 9/10/04
Decent hotel. Stockton does not have a booming hotel industry, so this is as good as it's going to get. Friendly service and cheap prices. Close to downtown and the Stockton Ports baseball field. Stayed in a "suite," which was essentially two smaller rooms with a lockable door inbetween. The mattress bed was awful, but the other two beds were OK.
