Please read this review for you own sake
I am not one to write reviews but in the case I felt the need to share with others considering staying the Hilton off of Grand Canal in Stockton. Where to begin? Check in was fine, room was ok a little out dated but clean. My husband and I arrived at around 2:30pm for a wedding scheduled at 6pm. We decided to grab a drink and a sandwich at the bar before getting ready for the wedding. The bartender who was waiting on the only other couple at the bar took 5 minutes to acknowledge we were even there. One acknowledged we ordered a vodka tonic and a sandwich, bartender poured a vodka collins. She fixed the drink after blaming the other bartender on switching the pour gun. After waiting 30 minutes for the sandwich I had to head to the room to get ready, could not wait any longer. My husband had to get the sandwich to go due time constraints, the lettuce was wilted, not expected for a $10. burger that took 35 min to make, but the burger tasted fine. During the wait for the burger my husband went to the front desk and ordered a cab for 5:45 pick up. All ready to go we headed down to meet the cab at 5:40 right in time to see no cab out front. Waiting until 5:48 we decided to call the cab for status the cab driver Luis #209-688-4881 AA City Cab let us know that he would be right there. We waited 5:57 (wedding starts at 6pm) I began to panic. Called the cab again. Luis told me at that point that he was waiting for someone else and would be right there. At that point we asked guest services if there was anything they could do, they said they called the cab and per Luis he was out there waiting for us at 5:45pm, which clearly was a lie. Luis with AA City Cab lied to Hilton staff members. We ended up driving ourselves as Hilton staff could offer no solutions. Although the location of the wedding was 5mins away, we still missed the ceremony. The wedding was beautiful and we had a great time regardless. After returning to the hotel I wanted to let the front desk know that it would be in there best interest as a fine hotel not to refer business to AA City Cab Luis due to bad business. Makes them look bad too. The lady behind the counter said "oh, the cab that was here at 5:45pm" I was shocked and at a lose for words. Clearly Hilton staff members sided with the Cab company vrs there paying customer who was trying to give them good advise. I missed my very good friends ceremony due to horrible customer service on so many levels. I recommend spending your hard earn money and time at the Marriott down the street. This was the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel. Finest Hotel, that's a joke. Thank you for listening.
