Everything costs extra

We arrived at the 4:00 check-in time and found that because of a wedding, there were no more self-park spaces. We had no choice but to pay the $25 fee for valet parking. Also, our room wasn't ready. No apology, just offered to call us when it was ready, and also to deliver our luggage to the room. We went to sit out by the pool, which was very nice, but they didn't call for 45 minutes. When we got to the room, the luggage wasn't there so we went to have complimentary wine in the lobby. (Cheese to accompany the wine was $15-$20 for three small samples.) We went back to our room to freshen up for dinner and the bags still weren't there. We called the desk and they were delivered within 5 minutes. Still, no apology. We had dinner in the bar, choosing to skip the pretentious, over-priced restaurant. (The best thing about the place was the very nice bartender/waitress who took care of serving our dinner. Kudos!) Our shared hamburger and fries was $20. Really excellent hamburger but still just a hamburger. The room was small and too warm. (Cost, $359 for one night.) When making the reservations, we were asked for our pillow preference. They ignored that preference. Small thing, but why ask if you're not going to honor the request anyway? The next morning we went to the lobby for breakfast expecting a complimentary continental breakfast only to be charged $20 for two pastries, a cappacino and a cup of tea. The staff was rushed, friendly but not helpful and didn't seem to care about providing good service, except for the evening bartender. We were also disappointed to learn that just using the hot tub would have cost us $39 apiece because it is located in the spa. I can't imagine ever staying here again.
