We loved this cute little motel----
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/03/09
Very cute and woodsy motel. Even though you can tell it's been around for awhile, the rooms have a cabin-like feel. It has everything you will need (refrigerator, microwave, coffee) If you are looking for the impersonal feel of a large chain hotel, you won't find it here. It's charming and quaint and the staff is wonderful. Junia Sigsworth went out of her way to accomodate us, even letting me use her own computer to check in our flight reservations. When we go back to the Redwoods, we will definately be staying there. Where else can you open the back window and see the beautiful trees and a stream flowing right outside your window. I miss it already. It was definately worth the very reasonable rate.

Total dive
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/25/08
I read the reviews here on the boards, and it made this place sound great. So I booked a night for business some travel. Don't even bother, the only thing I can say nice about the place is it was clean (no bugs) the Shower was coming out of the wall. The bed was hard as rock. T.V. is about as big as my hand. Worst of all I feel asleep while wearing my Ipod, I left the thing in the room, called back the following day and of course no one had turned it in. There is no other place in the world where I could have left that Ipod. So if you stay there for more than one day, be careful of the cleaning staff. Also I am a guy and I just didn't feel safe in that place. Spend the extra money go some place else. The people I was doing business with in the area. Once I told them I spent the night there they kind of looked at me like... ya not a good place. If this had been any other place I would have gotten a phone call telling me that I had left an item in my room. Not this dive. Do I have to give it a star?

Okay

The motel was nice. It was clean and the employees are genuinely nice. Although I truly wish that we had followed the clerks recommendation for where to go to dinner.

Visiting Garberville
By Karin, 12/15/07
I had invited seer/astrologer Mark Krueger to come for a presentation to Garberville. I arranged for him to stay at the Sherwood Forest Motel. I had the opportunity to meet Junie, one of the owners, who showed me Mark's room. Very nice, with pool view. What a beautiful place in the heart of Garberville!

Excellence at its best
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/08/06
I love everything about this place..except the pool not being heated. I have been doing the redwoods for 40+ yrs and have stayed here since the 80's. I first drove past it thinking it was too expensive but it's actually the cheapest, best, cleanest and by far the friendliest. I favorite of anyplace I have ever stayed! I will continue to br a loyal patron!!

Dog and People Friendly
By Kathy, 11/11/05
Run by very nice people. Basic, clean, comfortable. Nice park like surroundings, even a picnic table & bar-b-q behind the building. Would stay there again. Our dog liked it too!

Great place for entre to Redwoods
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/28/05
We stayed in Oct 05 when we ran the Humboldt Redwoods Marathon. Great location. Clean, safe, not much noise. Great price. Motel allowed runners to take a shower after checkout, later in afternoon-before we had a 4 hour drive back to SF--that was excellent karma and customer service.

A great place!
By Julian, 10/06/05
I stayed at this motel with my two cats while traveling for a week's visit with family, and the management loved them so much they even gave me treats for the cats to make them more relaxed. Great people - super nice and a friendliness I haven't experienced in a while. Room was quiet (they made sure to give me a quiet room, which I thought was considerate). Clean room and pool was really fun to swim in as well.

Relaxing away from home experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/06/05
We came up for a class reunion. Our room was nice, clean and it was quiet for the most part, not considering the crowd in the swimming pool. The pool and grounds were lovely and were quite relaxing to walk through & around the acreage.
