Almost Perfect
By ,
I don't expect much from a hotel, I've never stayed in one as ornate as the palace, and the history is still present, wich makes you stop and appreictiate the design. Once inside your room...not so great! I tried to make coffee in the morning...there is no coffee pot in the room, but then there is a flat screen plasma tv...also it was double occ. and thre was only a single sink! I went down to the pool...it's nothing short of a lap pool. If there are two other people in the gym it makes it feel crowded. But If your not planning on spending to much time in the hotel it's in a great location with 3 exits to diffrent parts of the city. Clean and friendly, staff is great, they allow pets, but rooms need work!!!

Don't waste your money here!
By ,
This Hotel was horrible! I booked a suite for the LLS Man & Woman of the Year Awards event on Saturday, May 10, 2008. Check in was at 3:00pm but they made me wait until 4:15pm before letting me up to my room because they weren't done cleaning it. I called room service to send up 3 extra ice buckets. After 30 minutes, I called again for those ice buckets. After waiting another hour, they only sent up 2 buckets, not 3 like I requested. The dinner event ended a 10:30pm and I had a small get together with other LLS guests in my suite. At midnight, a hotel security guard with a heavy Russian accent banged on the door. He told me that no private parties were allowed and all non-register guest had to leave immediately. His attitude was so rude... like he was acting like he was the KGB or something. I was shocked and angry!!! My guest didn't want any problems for me, so they all left. I highly recommend anyone and everyone to consider another hotel when staying in San Francisco. Either the Hilton or the Nikko is way better that this place.

45 minute wait for my car
By ,
I waited outside for the valet to get my car from the garage. After waiting 20 minutes, I was told there would be another 20 minute delay. There was no explanation. When I complained, I was then told that it would be the "next car out". It wasn't. Another 15 minutes before my car was delivered. No explanation, just a "sorry". They were not apologetic. I expected much better service from a luxery hotel. I would have expected at least an explanation or a warning so that my family did not have to stand outside with all our luggage for that period of time. The service was otherwise prompt. However, it did not measure up to the service that I have had at Four Seasons and most of the other luxery hotels.

Classy Hotel
By ,
Love the interior decor. Customer service always wonderful. Location not as convenient. Hotel is located a bit far from downtown, otherwise I would have given it a higher rating.

Experience of a life time!
By ,
The best hotel I've ever been to. Price was worth the stay. Didn't get to see the pool but will go back and do that next time. If you are in the city, this is the place to stay without a doublt. Do not past up on this hotel.

Hated It
By ,
I would not recommend the Palace. The rooms had a foul odor. The work out facility was great, but way too small for the hotel size. You would think that for $459 per there would be no need for an additional expense for internet service. To top it off no one checked the alarm clock in the room and it went off at midnight and five after. The lobby and location were great, but did not make up for the rest of the experience. I will not go back.

True San Francisco!!!
By ,
My husband and I are S. F. natives and always wanted to stay here. We're in our 60's and the wait was well worth it. It's incredibly beautiful down to every detail and the service was perfection. One of the best beds we have ever slept in. There are more luxurious accomodations but this perfect blend of old opulence, history and modern ammenities made it a memory you can't duplicate. We had a fantastic dinner at Maxfields and you have to have the buffet breakfast in the Garden Court. Excellent food!!! We had the added benefit of the Christmas decorations which make the hotel a wonderland. The location is ideal. You can walk to all the best shopping in S.F. We can hardly wait to go back!
