We enjoyed our stay here
Unlike some of the other reviews here, we did not experience any rudeness or arrogance from the staff. Perhaps we just hit everything at the right time, or the person(s) is no longer there??? Anyway, everyone we dealt with was very nice and helpful. Our room was well appointed for the price, comfortable, and quiet - cant beat that. We didn't experience the beggars on the front steps either, but hey, that's a pretty common thing in San Fran (and visit New York if you think San Fran is bad!) The area of the hotel is usually pretty busy with people, so we felt safe at night when we were returning from the days activities. The trolley stop is basically a block away, so very easy to get around. Concierge was very helpful, and got us ticket to a show. Definitely a place to consider if staying in this area.

Great from the Top Down until the Door...
By ,
Is it just us or is there some sort of funny business going on at this place around the tall doorman who, when tipped is civil and performs his duties, but when not fails to do so. Arriving and departing by taxi we had warm and then rather rude experiences with him that left a distaste for this location as well as the restaurant which, up to then, had provided us a wonderful evening. Multiple (4) Stars all around excepting the service out the door (1). Fortunate for him negative stars are not allowed.

Good hotel,wrong part of town.
By ,
My wife and myself stayed at parc55 for nine nights in July/August 2009. The hotel was perfect but one foot outside the door and the beggars were there,at one point one climbed the steps to meet us as we opened the door and begged for money. The maids were very friendly and courteus, and the reception staff were charming except for one who"s name I believe is Hanif who I found to be quite arrogant. We were to book the shuttle bus 24hrs prior to departure and asked Hanif if he would kindly make the call for us, he told us we did NOT have to call as the shuttle transport picked up there every half hour starting at 4a.m. On the morning of departure a guy named Mike who was attending to transport etc. called the shuttle to make sure and guess what, they would not be coming to parc55 as we had not called them. Mike very kindly arranged laternative transport for us which cost me $34 although I had already paid this when booking the holiday. Thanks a bunch Hanif. Apart from that it was a good holiday, a very interesting.

would stay again
By ,
Great hotel in the heart of everything. Step out the door to the trolley and street cars. You do not need a car here. You can walk everywhere. Rooms comfortable. Normal sounds of a city. Parking your car is $50.00 a day would not rent a car again unless I planned on traveling to more .distant parts of Ca.

Great Place - Recommended
By ,
Not knowing the city, we booked this place online and hoped for the best. The hotel is a large one, so common areas were always busy, but the place delivered. Staff was very friendly and accommodating, room was clean and well appointed, location is great, easy to get to from the highway. Best of all, my room was quiet so I was able to sleep! I saw someone else's comment about paying $38/day for parking. Based on when I stay in Boston, that's actually kind of cheap. I didn’t eat here so cant comment on the restaurant. There is a small Starbucks-type coffee shop right on the corner (great for breakfast) and the subway is across the street. Top notch place and definitely a value. I would stay at this place again in a second.

A Very Pleasant Experience
By ,
We found the hotel very comfortable and in a great location, a wonderful place to stay while exploring San Francisco. I dropped my bags off at the concierge stand before checking in and they arrived at my room minutes after I arrived. Later the concierge was very helpful in finding restaurants and getting tour information. If you can arrange it stay in the club level floors, I think it is 27 and above, the club lounge is a great place to relax breakfast is free in the morning and hor'orderves and available in the evenings with an honor bar also available. Our corner room had breathtaking views of downtown San Francisco from the Embarcadero to the Golden Gate. This hotel will be high on my list when I return. We stayed the week of September 24th.

Very Much Satisfied...
By ,
I am from Boston and I stayed at the Parc 55 for 7 nights in May, 2007. The room was large, clean and reasonably priced. Very easy access to public transportation that I highly recommend as parking EVERYWHERE is expensive - NOT JUST AT THIS HOTEL. The MUNI (public transportation system) is reasonable with a 7 day pass - BART is separate and rates are higher but very efficient. Meals at the hotel are expensive but there are many coffee venues very nearby and a new, large and very clean Mall just across the street that has a great food court. San Francisco is a walkable city as well. There is an Information Center just outside the hotel. People there and at the hotel were very accommodating and polite. Next time I stay in San Francisco, I'll stay at the Parc 55. Hey, that sounds like good motto for the hotel...they can use it!!!
