we stayed here for 4 nights with off-season rates ($169 + 20 daily service fee). stayed in the least expensive room (2 queen beds). the room was amazing, beautiful, clean, and large. we had room service twice as well as ate their breakfast and ALL the food was fantastic. we will go back next year for sure!

I've been here 3 times in the past 2 years and each trip was wonderful! The golf/spa pkgs. are a great value, especially during non-peak times. Beautiful resort, friendly/helpful staff, good location by shops,wineries,restaurants and great massages at the spa! The most recent trip was January 3rd and 4th 2008 when it was very windy and rainy. Even though the power went out on Friday, the staff handled it well and did the best they could under those circumstances. Make sure you tell them if you're celebrating a birthday or anniversary and they'll bring in a small cake and card during the evening. This is one of our most favorite places to go to relax and get away...you can veg in a beautiful resort or go winetasting, horseback riding, shopping or hiking just down the road. Downtown Carmel and Monterey are just a short drive away. I highly recommend this nice resort!

The location is wonderful. The rooms were even more wonderful. The fact that they allow pets is great. The only negative things I have to say are that its pretty pricey...$4 for a can of soda and $45 for 2 BLTs... and there was a mix up with our card and it was basically charged twice and it took so long to take care of it.

Stayed at the Quail Lodge over Easter weekend. It was a wonderful visit. We got one of the fairway villas. Let me say the room was amazing. So big and luxurious. It did feel a little dated but that did not take away from the great experience. We had our own private hot tub, 2 fireplaces, large living room, 2 TV's, stereo, and fridge. The service at the hotel was very good. Check in was easy, and they even left a cake in our room to help us celebrate our anniversary. The grounds are nice, even though we didn't get a chance to really check them out much. Drove into Monterey and it only took us about 15 minutes. Very convenient. We ate at the restaurant (The Covey) one of our nights. It is a very nice restaurant. Service was great (a little slow but I guess that's how alot of fancy restaurants are) and the food tasted good. The selection was not that great in my opinion. My Fiancee is a vegetarian and there were not many choices for her. I'm surprised that California doesn't have more veggie options for the non meat eaters. Overall it was a great visit. I would recommend the Quail Lodge to anyone who wants to treat themselves. It is a really nice place.

Greated by wonderful staff when checking in. My daughter and I stayed here. We don't particularly like golf, but even not enjoying that part of the resort, it was a wonderful stay. Very relaxing, beautiful views out our suite. We had our own patio, very private with view of golf course. A Heron was grazing on the golf course for snails in the morning, so peaceful to sit on the patio and watch. The bed was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. Tall ceilings and fans, windows that open to let in fresh air. Quiet as can be. Huge flat-panel TV. The bathroom was like something out of better homes and gardens, tile floor, very large, wonderful shower and seperate huge tub, beautiful sink, shampoos and soaps if you needed them. Mini bar was convenient and well stocked. wonderful grounds to go for walks, ponds with ducks and coots. Best part was that they allowed dogs! We had dogs with us, and although they would have been allowed in the room, we kept them in the car. Was very nice to be able to walk them around the grounds, knowing they were welcome. It is so hard to find a NICE motel/resort that allows dogs. I sure hope they continue to allow them. There was absolutely nothing bad about this resort. It was so wonderful, I can't imagine a place better. It definately spoiled me. Pricey, yes, but I think it was worth every penny. I'd go back or recommend it to anyone looking for a great stay in that area. We did not have time to check out the pool, so can't comment on that.

Quail Lodge is beautiful inside and out. The rooms were probably the cleanest I've ever had the pleasure of staying in, and were very attractive with spa quality bathrooms. Strolling through the grounds at night was absolutely magical, and even managed to be romantic in the company of our 3 children. The pool area is also gorgeous after dark, and includes a large firepit surrounded by cushioned seating. We also found the staff to be extra friendly and accomadating. Quail Lodge would be as suitable for a honeymoon as it was for our family getaway. Carmel Valley is itself uncommonly lovely, and there are plenty of things to fill the days such as beachcombing, tidepooling, and all the fun offerings of Monterey. If you go with the kids, be sure to stop at the big public park down by Fisherman's Wharf.

we love the quail lodge and for the past two years have spent our anniversary there. wonderfully appointed rooms, luxurious bathrooms, a large tv (great for me). last year we were blown away by the quality of the room. this year, even better. we loved the commodious window seat and lounged on it watching the ducks play in the pond. quite the retreat from busy city life. the covey (quail lodge's restaurant) also cooks up a delicious breakfast.

When searching the internet for the best honeymoon locations in California, I discovered Quail Lodge. We were traveling down the coast from San Francisco. Quail Lodge has great packages. We chose the golf package and the spa package. We received two nights, two rounds of golf, a couples massage, breakfast in bed, and the best atmosphere around. We felt as if the whole resort was ours. We never ran into another guest. The staff was the most friendly of our trip. The golf was fun. We played with another couple, and we enjoyed lunch with them afterwards. The couples massage was outdoors with the breeze blowing in: heavenly. The food was divine. The room was spacious with a spa theme: white everything. The bathroom was large for the room. The room was stocked with a help yourself mini bar full of sodas, juice, and wine from the sister property. The plasma tv was unreal in size, but we weren't watching too much tv. The location was close enough to Carmel, the wineries of Monterey, and Pebble Beach, yet secluded from the main tourist attractions. Located just minutes from downtown Carmel and a half hour from Big Sur. We will definitely be returning this year for our one year anniversary. We wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else. Our only dislike was having to leave so soon.

Quail Lodgde is well-located in the "Napa-like" valley of Carmel. The lodge offers comfortable unique suites, ample amenities, and much more. If you want to visit Monterey and experience true logde attitude, visit this "swell" place. Pricy, a bit -- yes. However,luxuries abound. Try the wonderful spa (I had the BEST facial I've ever had anywhere!). You are within easy distance of a beautiful golf course, upscale shopping, and last but not least -- the ever gorgeous Montery/Carmel Pacific Coast. ENJOY!

The flat panel TV in the room is HUGE and as soon as my husband saw it he did not want to leave the room! This is OK with me as the room had a cozy down comforter and a huge bathroom with deep tub and a yummy toiletries! We don't play golf, but checked out the course and also worked out in the gym (which is a bit of a hike away from the rooms, but no big deal). Will definitely return here in the future !!
