konocti harbor a fun place to be but overpriced
By Mike G, 09/17/09
If you like the concerts at Konocti but dont want to pay thier ridiculous prices for a room ( or the two night minimmum ). Camping at the state park about a mile away is a fun alternative. And at $25. a site much cheaper and it puts you about 10 min. from Konocti vista casino. Me and my old lady love the resort at Konocti but it is a little dingy and over priced. The Pool is great you pay $10. and you can hang all day. It really is a party place on concert nights I cant see bringing the kids. And after the concerts the bar at the resort can get crazy but dont we all need a little crazy now and then? Overall a fun place to be in a beautiful setting. I have been going for 20 years now and I hate to see it close.

This place is a DUMP!!
By Tim, 09/10/09
I see things just never change at Konocti.. I heard this morn the place is shutting down. The SF Plumbers union own this place and they should be embaressed. The word DUMP is an understatment. Tear it down and find a owner that cares

Won't Stay Here Again!
By nlm, 08/21/09
We didn't like much about the resort. The room had dirty, spotted red carpet, no where in the bathroom to put flat iron or other essentials, just a small white sink. The shower also didn't have anywhere to put your shampoo bottle and the shower mat was torn all around the center. There was supposed to be directions to have internet access under the port but there weren't any instructions. The pool area was nice and kept up butt the rooms definitely need to be updated!

Overpriced
By Amanda, 09/04/08
Stayed over Labor Day Weekend to see KISS. Calling this place a "resort" is overrated. The rooms are old and run down with bugs everywhere. Showers are a joke (hope you are small - don't even think about trying to shave!) The BBQ cost $40 but was worth more like $5, if that. Food in the cafe is ok, but still overpriced. Late night bar is slow and workers are less than nice. Only good thing was the KISS show. Next time, hit the show, stay elsewhere even if you have to drive.

Never to return
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/03/08
After years of hearing the hype of Konocti Harbor I got the opportunity to go see KISS play there on 8/31/08 at $230.00 a tix which included Konocti's wonderful Sunset BBQ ($39.00 ea). My friend and I went to find it to be a huge dissapointment and very overpriced. The $39 each Sunset BBQ w/ salad and all the fixings, BBQ'd chicken/steaks, dinner rolls, Desert and a few extra entres came down to a salad with mushrooms, cucumbers, cheese, and lettuce (choice of 2 dressings), dried out meat with no flavor and a desert that was a small cup of melted icecream. The drinks were not included and had to pay $3 for soda/water or $6.50 domestic beer and $10 importer per bottle. There was chlorinated water for free however. RIDICULOUS!! The public bathrooms were very gross. The opening band for KISS for terrible, some no-name group that only got applause when they left the stage. The concert area was alot smaller than thought too. We did not stay over due to there were no available reservations, thank God. Our $50 room down the road in Lakeport was alot more impressive and alot more re$sonably rated. We both agreed never to return. Value? we won't even go there.........

Can I Get Whine With That Cheese
By This missing link, 08/20/08
For all of you who keep putting Konocti Harbor resort and spa down, please give me a break, Yes i have to admit that it is in need of some TLC but if you are a family on a budget Konocti is a great place to bring your family and friends and just have a great time. Every resort has their flaws, even some of the most popular resorts have the same complaints, to me it sound more like people that let the resort mad, because they didn't get it their way trying to push for a freebie, in my own experience i will tell you that the staff is friendly they have a peewee golf, tennis courts, rec room, marina, spa, and a great concert venue. If you are looking to get away from the craziness of the city living for a weekend give Konocti Harbor Resort and Spa a try, you will love it. In closing to those who have complained. If the place is so bad. Why do you keep going back? (Hummmmm) Hope this was help for those considering visiting Konocti.

A jail cell and food is better
By Rosie, 06/10/08
I guess you can just say you are a resort and spa and over charge for everything. The place must have been built in the 80's and last remodeled in the 80's. Don't expect to relax at this location unless you are really really drunk... yes it is that bad. I drove 8 hours from Ventura, CA expecting a $200 room but instead i got what looked like a dirty jail cell with red orange carpet...PLEASE DONT BE FOOLED...The pictures on their website were taken when the resort was first built (hint: no boats in the marina)..the place is now a dump.

Poor Security and Management
By Jeremiah, 10/13/07
My wife and I attended a concert at the resort and left six small gift bags in the hands of the head of security to be given to one of the bands performing that evening. Later we learned that the band never received the gifts. I called the security department several times and only got their voice mail, which they never responded to. Finally after several days I was able to speak to the head of security who hung up the phone during our conversation. I then got in contact with the top manager who was no help at all. He stated that even though the resort took possession of the items, they were not at all responsible for their loss. I would not feel at all secure staying here.
