Not recommended
By Jim, 1/4/10
We stayed at the Inn over New Years Eve 2010 as part of a package. The restaurant was quite warm and when we requested at different table, away from the heat source, the restaurant manager was quite rude. The server was however very good and the meal was exceptional. After the meal we went to the bar to get a drink. The Bartender ignored us for 5-10 minutes before we had to request service. Still without looking at us, he advised that he would be with us soon. Clearly he was busy, but you at least expect to be acknowledeged. After 5 more minutes, it was clear his only interest was in filling the drink orders for the servers. We left without a drink. In a nut shell - The rooms were OK and the food was good. With the exception of the waiter and bus staff, the hotel needs to work on how they treat their guests. I might expect the "snooty" service at a Four Seasons, but not a souped up motel. The locations is beautiful, but unfortunately, we will not be returning

Would not recommend!
By mel, 12/18/08
The Inn At Morrow Bay was not a hotel that I would recommend. My boyfriend and myself thought it would be a nice place to stay while he was in town for work and that was not the case. The rooms are small and minimal but cozy. When we got here the thermostat (which controls the fireplace) to heat the room was not working, (someone had to come out a couple times before it was fixed); the Internet (which is $10 a day to use) was also not working; and the fridge froze all of our groceries. Make sure if you would like to use a hot tub while you stay here you book one of their rooms that have one. There is a pool and a big circular patch of dirt where there looks like there was a hot tub at one point. The second day we were here a tree branch fell right though our rental cars windshield so make sure not to park your car right next to the rookery. The third day I came down with the flu (understandably just bad luck) and was curious if we could check out a little later. Check out time is 12:00 and all that they could do was give us until 1:30. I could understand if the hotel was fully booked but there was NO ONE staying here! Not planning on coming back, we honestly should have switched hotels on day one.

OK
By Lisa T, 12/3/08
I felt the room was overpriced for what you get. Monday night in November was 200 bucks. The room was nice but not spectacular, nothing impressive about it. No great immenities. We spent two nights in Cambria and the third here, next time I think we will just stay in Cambria another night.

A great getaway!
By dink, 7/24/08
After reading the past reviews, I was somewhat reluctant to visit the inn. Lets just say i was pleasantly surprised. First off...the Inn is not for those who expect glamour and newness... it is a quaint hotel that sits in a bird sanctuary and was built in the 60's. With that said, the stay was peaceful and a great escape from daily life. The service was kind and the restaurant was wonderful. I would highly reccomend it to anyone who wont "judge a book by its cover". If you like the whole "luxury motif", the inn will be too simple for your taste.

it was a nice hotel...
By laine, 9/2/07
The inn at morro bay was a nice hotel, right on the water.it had a good location. Although it seemed kind of old, it was still pretty good. The only things we didnt like were that the room was waay too small, and there was no spa on our balcony, like everyone else had. i asked why we didnt have a spa, and they told me that only some rooms had them..

We would never go back
We were very dissappointed in everything about this place. IT was given to us a gift and it is said to be a resort. It was very run down, the service was terrible and our room was the worst. When I took a shower the whole bathroom flooded. The water went right through the shower curtain and there were bugs in the bathroom. If it hadn't been so expensive, maybe we would have expected less but for any amount of money,we would never go back or recommend it to anyone.

I will never come back here.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/29/07
When I got there, it took them 45 mins to get me the room I reserved for! They just gave me the run around. I went to the first room and the spa was missing and I specifically reserved for a private spa. It looked like they just took the spa out! So I went back to the front desk to inform them about the missing spa and they then dear to ask what I asked for in a room! I couldn't believe that they had to nerves to ask that and I pointed to the reservation paper which I have printed out and pointed out the description! This time I was already furious. Then they tried to give me a downstairs upgrade with a fireplace, which I didn't care for. But they told me to check it out anyway, and I didn't like it because it was not as private as I thought it would be and on the reservations, I request for an upstairs room for privacy. I wasn't happy with that upgrade excuse that they try to give me. I went back and told them that I didn't care about the upgrade and that I just want what I had reserved for. So it took them another 10 mins. to find another room with a king size bed and a private spa located upstairs, which I specifically reserved for! They were trying to say a bunch of stuff like It is an upgrade or we'll give you a discount. I don't really care about all those excuses. The point is, I just want what I reserved for, and if you can't give it to me then why did you approve the reservation as if you had the room ready for me? If they had better communication with their housekeepers and had a better and more organized staff and facility, issues like this would have not erupted! The restaurant had a poor selection of food and it was too expensive! I will never book a room there ever again.

A Great Getaway
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/4/07
The Inn at Morro Bay is a fabulous oasis from hectic, crowded, demanding life. The setting is peaceful. The wildlife is soothing. The staff is friendly, yet not overbearing. The rooms are cozy- with fireplace and private patio hot tubs being included in everyone. For you ritzy people...BEWARE: the rooms are not elaborate, however they are comfortable and well- appointed. The views are serene. My husband and I found this little place about three years ago via the internet. I look forward every six months to our weekend trip back to our cozy getaway. Check their rates online and look into their packages. Our favorite is the STAY AND PLAY. Perfect for golf lovers, as it includes a tee time for two at the beautiful course overlooking the water at the golf course behind the facility. A+ Room, Hot Tub, Golf, Oceanviews...all for a very low price. Its a great deal!

Hardly an Inn
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/24/06
I found this "Inn" to be more like a 60's Motel than an Inn. Room was small and not exactly upscale. Bathrooms need to be updated. Location was good--right on the water. The best part of my experience there besides interaction with family and friends was the massage.

Secret Hideaway
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/6/06
I stayed at the Inn with my husband and two kids. It is like a secret getaway. We thought that we got lost on our way there. The view is spectacular from all around. Dinning at the restaurant was a great experience. Services were superb. The room was facing the water front. Lots of birds. Room was clean. No bugs found. I wasn't looking for any. There are a lot of things to do around the area. It is definitely a great getaway to just unwind from the LA City life.
