Holiday Inn Laguna Beach, Laguna Beach

this hotel is very close to shopping center and beach. Rooms are very old and dark. There is also a $20.00/night for this hotel. Over all not impressive at all

The hotel has been fully renovated. Great location. walking distance to all shops, restaurants, galleries and art festivals. Across the street from the beach. All of the rooms face the lush tropical pool and courtyard.

Newly remodeled bathroom, though no bath tub. Very clean. Cute internal yard, a lot of flowers. Swimming pool not so big. Good location: one block to the ocean beach, three blocks to the art center.

We stayed here two nights and couldn't have ask for a nicer place! The staff was very helpful and friendly, the room was clean (a little small) but very nice! The pool area was very nice. I would stay here again anytime. Myself and 2 teenage daughters felt very safe and comfortable.

Very clean. Easy to walk into town and party. Didn't deal much with the staff. Can't think of any dislikes. Would go back. OK I needed one more word.

Great positioning, good sushi next door, Ralphs across the street, one street up from the beach (no need to pay extra, just for the view, beautiful decoration, plants everywhere. A really calm place with nice service...

we got stuck in a very unsatisfactory b aand b across the street. the desk people were very helpful in getting us a room, allowed us to check in early the staff was always very helpful and friendly. there is continous popcorn, fruit coffee lemonade pop and bottled water. a daily newspaper is delivered the room has luxurious beddings and is immaculate. the private tropical courtyard around the pool is quiet and beautiful. it is write across from the beach and a large grocery store and some fast food places. great place i will stay ther again and again.

The lack of staff training, rude personnel and unwillingness to honor reservations and confirmed pricing will prevent me from ever using the services of this Hotel (Holiday Inn - Laguna Beach, CA). Even when presented with confirmation numbers, the staff was unable to place me in a room reserved many months prior. The hotel attempted to over-charge other guests of my wedding party and advised my bride not to wait in the lobby while attempting to make alternative arrangements at 11:45 PM after the hotel lost the reservation. Hotel management then tried to charge guests of my wedding party for the room which we were not allowed to use as a result of the lost reservation. Yes, they tried to bill us for a room that no one used! In addition, we called 4 days before arrival to confirm the reservations. Although this hotel is in a great location and has a clean presentation and quaint atmosphere, there are many other hotels in Laguna Beach which will honor their reservations and will happily accommodate travelers. I advise avoiding this hotel (no matter how nice the location is) at any cost.

I'm actually sitting here in my room at the Holiday Inn Laguna Beach, and thought I'd give my two cents' worth. First, the Hotel is about what you'd expect for a Holiday Inn - three story, average-sized rooms, average-sized swimming pool. The hotel is across the street from the beach, though once you cross the street you have to walk another 100 yards and then down a steep flight of steps to actually reach the beach itself. It's a good value, no denying that, compared to most of the other hotels in the area, and it's pretty centrally located, about 3 blocks south on PCH from the 133 Laguna Highway. The good: there is free water and soda, as well as coffee and popcorn(?), in the lobby, which is nice. Our room had a king-sized bed and a decent desk, dresser, mini-refrigerator. The rooms appear to all have wall-mounted AC units instead of central, which is not that big a deal since it doesn't really get hot this close to the ocean. The hotel is right next to a Ralphs, and across the street from a KFC and Taco Bell. The staff were friendly and helpful if you had questions regarding where to go for food, etc. The pool area had a nice covered gazebo and plenty of tables and chairs and umbrellas. The bad: there is no privacy, as all the rooms look out into the pool and therefore all windows and doors are right next to the hallways. You can't open a window anywhere. The "fitness center" is two treadmills (one of which was broken), and a stationary bike - no weights, no stairmaster, nothing else. The parking lot is outdoors, no covered parking. Overall, I would recommend this Holiday Inn if you are somewhat budget conscious. For the price we paid, it was definitely worth it.
