Nice, but bring a pillow!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/9/06
The hotel was very nice, good location. The parking was very expensive, but that is the way in the city...the beds were amazing, very comfy, but the pillows were horrid! Great showers, great views!

A Winner!
By eric, 10/4/06
I stayed at The Argent for a couple of days last month & had read horrible reviews about the hotel prior to my trip. The Argent was a great hotel! Nice lobby, decent staff, great Concierge, the room had an awesome view (small bathrooms though) and the location is unbeatable! The bar area is really nice/cozy. The restaurant.. I would give a miss honestly. I ate dinner there one night and breakfast another day. It's overpriced and not very good. There are some excellent restaurants in San Fran, so I would explore those (try Boulevard, the Concierge will make a reservation for you). So for all of those who wrote such scathing reviews of this hotel- you'll be happy to know there's a Ritz Carlton going up next door- I would still stay at the Argent!

Don't stay at the Argent
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/18/06
We were charged $50.00 more than the rate our online reservation had given us. The employees were rude, and they did not know how to use their computer system. It took over an hour to check-out, and another half-hour before they were able to correct their billing error. I did not have assistance taking my belongings to my room, and the valet service brought my car up, but I had to go chasing after them for the keys. This is not a 4-star hotel. It's a no-star hotel. I won't stay there again.

Not that Impressed.
By vivian, 8/31/06
The best thing about this hotel was it's location. But then again, so are ten other hotels that are in the same area. I found the staff at the argent very unknowledgable and rude, not what I was expecting from a 5 star hotel.

Perfect weekend Getaway!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/19/06
I live in Arizona, looking for a place to take my wife to get out of the heat (July 100+) She had never been to San Francisco and I knew it was MUCH cooler. I found the Argent on the internet. It was PERFECT, close to shopping, the AT&T park, and the Piers. We did not hav to rent a car because everything was within walking distance. The staff was VERY accomadating. I needed a place to go to dinner last min on a sat nite, the guest services found me a quaint little place a block away with Great steaks, and live music. Rooms were big & cumfy, bar cozy & elegant. I'm hooked, when I go back I will definatly stay there again.

Perfect for business travelers
By Robyn, 8/15/06
Situated just around the corner from the Moscone Center in downtown San Francisco, this swank hotel is perfect for business travelers. It's great for tourists as well, but that particular area of SF tends to be pretty quiet at night and on the weekends. Still, it's just a short walk to the train, about a 15-minute walk to a Giants game or Chinatown and Telegraph Hill, and about a 30-minute walk to some popular waterfront spots. My favorite part of the hotel was the floor-to-ceiling windows in my room. I woke up in the middle of the night to find myself staring out at the city lights. Very cool. My only real gripe was that high-speed Internet wasn't included ($15/night). Oh, and a bowl of cereal costs $9.00!!! Plan on eating out unless you have an expense account.

Good value, small room but nice
By hotelinspector, 7/10/06
Near 3rd and Markets Sts, 1 - 2 blocks to BART & MUNI stations. Lots of homeless derelicts in this downtown area but the hotel is nice if you can get a good rate thru Hotel.com, Expedia, etc. Cons were they seem to want to nickle and dime you to death with extra charges, restaurant prices seemed high, plus gratuities, etc. Candy bar in room was $6.95. Same one at airport was $2.95. Overall good with an extremely comfortable king sized bed. Staff were good. Picture window overlooking a multi-tier parking garage. $14.95 per day for internet connection. Bring your cell phone or lots of money if you plan to use their phone.

Location and amenities
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/16/06
The Argent is a great place to stay when visiting San Francisco. The rooms are comfortable and the staff is first rate. In addition, the hotel is walking distance to Pac Bell Park for fans of the Giants.
