Treated Badly
By ,
I booked 3 rooms Priceline, We we checked in at 11:30 pm. They said all they had were rooms with single size beds. Priceline says that all rooms are with beds for 2 adults. I called Priceline they offered me a refund or get me a room at the priceI paid for the rooms at the Holiday Inn on the bay. 11:30 at night that meant a 1 star hotel. The hotel staff kept saying "you booked through Priceline and that's what you get." They had my prepaid money and did not care. That morning we left the hotel and I get a call from my son saying they charged him for the room. I had to go back to the hotel and straighten it out.

\"This hotel sux.\"
By ,
Wow! For the price $193 Sat and $153 Sun, this place is terrible. They charge $22 per night for parking - if you're lucky enough to find a spot. There is no mini refrigerator or microwave (for the price, there should be!) Who ever heard of putting a closet in the bath room? The ONLY thing this hotel has going for it is the location. Other than that, bad, bad, bad.....

Nice Hotel, Great Location
By ,
I found this hotel by searching online and decided to book it having never been to San Diego before. It was a great choice. The hotel is located on the bay right across the street from the cruise ship terminal, ferry rides and the ferry to Coronado. In addition, it is only 5-10 minutes from the airport and a 15 minute walk to the Gaslamp District. There is a shuttle that takes you to and from the airport and to other fun locations around the city such as the San Diego Zoo. We paid around $200.00 a night, but the location and shuttle make this a very good deal. The room was clean and the staff was friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is going on vacation to San Diego and would return there myself should I visit the area again.

GREAT LOCATION!
By ,
We enjoyed our stay at Holiday Inn on the Bay. The staff was friendly & very helpful; our room was clean & comfortable; the location is fabulous! There is so much to see, all within walking distance. We stayed on an upper floor with a bay view and did we have a view! It was awesome! We read many reviews before booking at this hotel. We are not sure what some of the folks were complaining about. Our stay was great and we will stay there again! The staff did a wonderful job fulfilling our requests. It was well worth the price and you can't beat the location! We will highly recommend this hotel to our family and friends who visit San Diego.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!!
By ,
One of our newly purchased garments( expensive jeans) went "mysteriously missing" from our room.We reported this to the front desk and were made to feel that this was our fault due to the rudeness and coldness of the individual at the desk. The manager was of no help either. I wrote the president of Holiday Inn TWICE. Finally, the response was as follows: the company is not responsible for lost items as this is a PRIVATELY OWNED FRANCHISE. The manager did phone me to essentially tell me that we're not getting our money back.I've waited for a response from these individuals for months on end.Small claims court is an option but we're from New York. How long will that take to be reconciled and is it worth it? Would they show up and/or respond? Thus, this is my recourse . BOTTOM LINE: your belongings are not safe in this place and...it's a pretty rude and unfriendly place overall.

Hot water too much to ask for?
By ,
We were in town for a dinner/concert and all we needed was a nice place to stay. We checked in and wanted to clean up before dinner but there was no hot water. We called the front desk and they said they would send someone up. We waited a hour and nobody came so we went to our dinner/concert and returned after 10pm. The first thing we did was turn the shower on. To say it was luke warm would be a exaggeration. But, we were tired and dirty so it had to do. Upon check out we complained again and all we got was a "I'm sorry, would you like us to bill your card on file?" NEVER again at ANY Holiday Inn!

If you can overlook the rude front desk staff
By ,
We enjoy staying at this hotel so much we tolerate the absolute disinterest and rudeness of the front desk staff----It must be a pre-requisite to hiring--as we have been staying here for years and while the staff changes but the bad attitude does not! The hotel location is fantastic--the balcony overlooks the bay--close to the tour buses--boatrides--trolley---if you feel the need for politeness--you will usually only find it from the parking attendant....

I left early!
By ,
If you are looking for a hotel for business purposes, then you've found it. Its downtown near all the high rises and airport is down the street. If you were looking for a hotel to enjoy the atmosphere, more of a resort type..beware. When i booked on a prepaid booking website, and found out that they had given me a hotel that was more business class than resort, I was really disappointed. The movies cost anywhere from 14.00 to 16.00 dollars per movie. There was no Jacuzzi. They say its a heated pool but it was still chilly. My room was facing the parking lot, and after i checked in and phoned the front desk to ask if i could get another room facing the bay, she told me it would be 40.00 extra a night. So if none of that matters to you, then you will have a good time. Also i should mention that you can hear a train often as the tracks are about a block away and parking was 22.00 a night. Beware of what you ask for when you order through a service you cannot get a refund through.

Fantastic Cruz location!!!
By ,
Location, location, location!!! Last February we took a Cruz to Mexico and decided to spend the night in San Diego after the Cruz. The Holiday Inn was directly across the street from where the ship docked. We requested a room that faced the water and the view was spectacular. I would stay there again in a hart beat.

Can't wait to go back!
By ,
Great hotel, no problems. Close to US Marine boot camp and airport. Would stay there again. Very clean and the kids enjoyed the pool and the beds. After walking all day at my sons graduation we couldn't have gotten a place.
