Clean rooms and no one bothers you
By Chela Cullen, 10/26/09
My hotel room was very clean. I was concerned over the bed after driving 5 hours, but the bed was super comfy. Saturday we walked 10 hours in S. F. and we got back, everything was clean in the room. no one bothers you. would come back again. only 8 miles to san franscisco, and freeway right across from the parking exit.

Great hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/15/09
Five stars This hotel was clean, well appointed, and the bed was superbly comfortable - very important after a 14 hour flight. I was very impressed by the friendliness and helpfulness of the front desk and dining room staff. For a woman travelling on her own, it felt a very safe place to be and I would highly recommend it.

Great customer service!
By CO reviewer, 01/27/09
The Hotel General Manager and staff have done their homework at this location on what it takes to go above and beyond to accomodate travelers! I experienced a problem and the GM was SO accomodating and gracious! Great customer service abounds at the HGI in Emeryville! I would return to this location.

Ride Emery-go-Round
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/04/08
We took the Watergate Emery-go-Round express bus from MacArthur station straight to the hotel, and used it thoughout our stay to get into San Francisco or to Berkeley. They also provide a shuttle for early, late or weekend transportation. Saved money on an expensive rental car. Hotel newly remodeled. Staff helpful. Cookies delicious. Would stay again.

Disappointed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/15/06
I did know , beforehand , that this hotel was under-going "remodeling." But, when I entered the lobby and heard jack-hammering , very loud jack-hammering , needless to say I was "concerned." I was hopeful that if I was assigned an upper floor , the noise would not be too severe. Well, I was mistaken. It was very difficult to enjoy the room or the view because the noise from the jack-hammering was extremely annoying. I checked in at about 11:00 AM , so it was prominent until noon , then continued until about 5:00 PM after the lunch break. It was not constant , but quite bothersome over-all. But I did not complain. Another matter really bothered me. By mistake I was double-billed. It was very difficult , in my opinion , to speak with the appropriate individual to resolve the matter. It took me six calls , long-distance. Fortunately, the matter was resolved to my satisfaction but it was not easy. I did write a thank-you note to the individual who finally assisted me. But over-all I was quite disappointed in the lengthy process it seemed to take to "connect" with the right individual. I am not certain I would stay there again. Certainly not until after the remodeling is entirely completed.

Great Value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/04/05
I stayed there and it was a great value for the $$$. I read the other review and what does the other reviewer expect to walk-in on a big convention week. My price was more the fair and the service I received I put against any of the high priced hotels in San Francisco. Remember that you are staying in a Holiday Inn and not a Hyatt.

overpriced
By Daniel, 06/28/04
way overpriced for what it is offered ; staff was relative friendly ; check in/out fast ;
we had a room facing the bay/ harbor but still the 170$ was a rip off --have to mention we just walk in and ask for a room --and some big convention was taking place in San Francisco
It is good that a plaza is near by --Henry Food store, large organic choices, so you can go and grab something to eat from there.
not worth more than 100$ the most
