Fairwinds Motel, Arcata

We stopped by this little town in Humboldt County on our trip to Ukiah from Redding. The Fairwinds Motel sign was the first one we saw on Highway 101. This motel is close to the downton and has wireless internet. Many of the restaurants around the motel are mom&pop's places and they are a little pricey, but it was worth the money. The motel itself is clean and comfortable, quiet and feels very safe. The Humboldt Brewery nearby is a good place to hang out especially for young people. I would recommend this place for a stop over.

This place is the closest accomodation for visitors to the Humboldt State University. You can walk to the university by crossing the bridge right in front of the motel. Several fast food and regular restaurants nearby, a grocery store next door, so you will not get hungry. I like this place, the service is basic but the rooms are cozy. I don't even need to use my car to go around the town.
