Embassy Suites Los Angeles - Downey, Downey

I had horrible experience at Embassy Suites at Downey. I booked hotel for four days but in reality I just stayed one day and checked out early and lost my money for remaining three days. The reason I checked out was because my room was nasty. Bathrooms were dirty; there were hairs in my bathroom. The bath towels were foul and smelling bad. The air condition was not working in my room. I called front desk and complain about it. The person at front desk told me that technician would be at my room in few minutes. Half hour passed by and whole night went away but nobody came in my room to fix air condition. I request king size bed and they gave me two queen size beds. Next day in morning I checked out from hotel and manager on duty told me that he can only work out refund me one day money and if I check out I would be loosing my money for rest of three days. I booked Embassy Suites at Downey hoping that it is Hilton property and would have good experience at hotel but on the contrary Embassy suites spoiled my vacation.

We had a lovely two-room suite on the top floor with a nice view out the back of the hotel overlooking the city toward the mountains. Room was clean and neat, nicely appointed. This is our second stay at a Hilton property this summer. Both times were wonderful experiences. Staff was very friendly, helpful and eager to make our stay a good one. Only negative comment was that the beautiful indoor patio area smelled of cigarettes and because of that we chose to skip the evening reception and our included made-to-order breakfast.

I've always had positive experiences at this hotel. As I am reading the reviews, I don't think it's fair for you (the hotel) to keep reviews up from 2005, 4 yrs ago....I am sure you've rectified the challenges from 4 yrs ago.....right? It just doesn't' look good and I love this hotel and don't think it's fair for you that folks may be choosing another place to stay due to your reviews. I say you update them and just go back 1 yr at the most! Hope my input helps!

This is one of the best Embassys I have been to.. Very friendly staff. Great Location. Their current room rates is amazing considerin 2 hours of drinks and a hot breakfast. The food at the restaurant was amazing.. I recommend it for any casual visit to LA.

I live in Downey and dined last Saturday evening at the Hotel Restaurant. I have stayed at many Embassy Suites on travel for my work and can say without question this was the worst experience I have ever had and I didn't even stay overnight. The hotel is under reconstruction and have a sign posted at the rear entrance advising patrons to be patient. Does the hotel staff think that that sign posting gives them a license to not clean the floors. As we made our way from the read door past the banquet room it was visable that the room was set for a wedding and the bride and groom were waiting in the lobby. The floor was so dirty that I asked for the banquet manager to express my displeasure with the filth on the floors right outside of the reception site. I was told that the floor would be cleaned. When I left the floor had not been cleaned and the receiption was in full swing. Perhaps because I will be the Mother of a Bride in January, 2009, I was so offended. My daughter's wedding and reception is thankfully planned at a very elegant venue in Newport Beach and I feel confident that everything to the last degree will be perfect. It is shameful that this new Bride and Groom had to have such an eyesore greeting them and their guests. The food at the restaurant was passable but the service. was awful. There was another couple in the dining room and we could not get refills of water or diet coke.

The breakfast cooked to order - blah. The oatmeal is more like barley soup. Eating area is overly crowded. Staff needs to learn how to control the traffic. Staff has indifferent attitude. Maid service is awlful. Parking is terrible. Parking in the rear of the hotel and arriving after hours requires you to walk in the street to get to the front entrance. Restaurant is average, lounge closes at 10:00p.m.

the services setting up our company meeting was great. very help personnel. they showed dedication to what they do. But, on the actual day of the event, we were not satisfied. nothing was set up till 30 minutes after our meeting was suppose to start. they didnt answer any questions. and when we called to receive paper work they just gave us the run arounds.
