Great inexpensive option
TIPS:
Ask for an even-numbered room on the highest floor available--this will put you on the fenced-in side of the building rather than the roadfront side, which is pretty noisy. Also, book on daysinn.com and you may be able to get a "daylight savings" special, which is usually $10 less than going rate on the travel sites (and if you find a cheaper rate online, you can get a free night, which I have done and is honored).
REVIEW:
I work in the bay area three days a week and after trying several other options at the low end of the price scale have settled on this Days Inn as the best place to hang my hat. The Hilton this ain't, so if you're looking for towels that might have sprung out of a Downy commercial, look elsewhere (and be prepared to dig much deeper into your wallet). But if you want a clean, secure, inexpensive room for the night, this is a good choice. You can get somewhat better amenities and newer rooms for $15-30 a night more at the other hotels clustered in the same areas (I've stayed at the HoJo's and Comfort Inn--both were fine but not worth the extra money, I thought).
I was surprised by the reviewer who mentioned parties, fights, etc. That hasn't been my experience, though I've never stayed on a weekend. I've never felt unsecure around the hotel grounds or felt that noise was a problem on the fenced-in side of the hotel (again, make sure to get an even-numbered room so you don't have to listen to traffic).
