The Hadsten House Inn and Spa is a luxury wine country inn centrally located in the Santa Ynez Valley. One can even take a stroll through the inns on-site mini vineyard. It is next door to the village of Solvang, within two blocks of shops and bakeries. The Chumash Casino is less than four miles away and Santa Barbara is 35 miles from the hotel. Local attractions include Nojoqui Falls County Park, approximately eight miles away, and wineries, located five miles from the property. The guests will be able to rejuvenate by selecting one of the spa suites or relax in Solvangs only heated indoor pool and be pampered in the day-spa and savor the local wine tasting and hors d oeuvres reception when the renovations are complete. The hotel offers a complimentary American breakfast buffet. I am a non smoker the person traveling with me is a smoker. The guest services book in the room said to dial 0 and they would be happy to provide an ashtray for those who wished to smoke outside. We went out and when we returned we stopped at the dest and asked for an ashtray, my friend was told that they did not have ashtrays and she had never given one out, she was very rude. When checking out in the morning I asked and was told this was a non smoking facility which I knew and they they did not provide ashtrays. I told he it stated they did and she said she had never heard of that. I told her it was in the guest services book and she replied she would remove it. Smoking was not allowed in that county within 20 feet of the doors, as if i should know that! I would never stay in a room that was smoked in but felt their atitude was terrible, an apology would have been in order instead of a lecture on smoking to a non smoker!

Nice remodel, however...still a Motel!!

They did a good job of remodeling what was probably the Motel 6 in town. It looks good and the rooms were decorated very nice. However, the bathrooms were painted motel bathromms, very small. The worst was the sound. As all motels, the plumbing was very loud and we could hear everything in the adjacent rooms. Lipstick on a pig is still a pig!!

No Facilities for Infants / Babies!!

Be very careful booking here if you have young children, they do not have crib's available for babies / infants unlike every other hotel we have ever stayed at! They also didn't care or want to offer any assistance, said it was our problem. I agree it is, but I would expect more service from a hotel like this!

Overpriced

While the rooms were redone and looked nice, the exterior was very average and the noise from the other rooms (due to the thin walls)was very loud. We could hear every door shut, chair move, etc. The rooms were clean, but not very spacious for the price. I paid $60 more for a double queen room, believeing I reserved the suite, than was quoted on the website (even though I was told at check in that rates change depending on availability, this seemed excessive). The breakfast buffet was good, but I believe I paid for that with the increased price of my room.

Absolutely Wonderful 5 Star all the way

My company had a business meeting there, these folks treat you like you are one of the family. Super Service, the most wonderful clean room anywhere I have been. The restaurant was out of this world. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is within 100 miles of this place come and stay. Solvang is a beautiful town, the hospitality we enjoyed while we were there was unsurpassed. I keep looking for a word to describe this place. None come to mind, but if you choose to stay here, come prepared to be treated like royalty.

You can have class in Solvang!

I was a little concerned when we drove up and saw what looked to be just another fake tudor Solvang motel, but as soon as we drove into the reception circle and my girlfriend and I were greeted with chilled bottles of water I knew we wouldn't be disappointed. Bill Phelps has done an amazing job completely renovating this place into a very comfortable, high-end french style resort. The staff are trained to a high level of customer satisfaction and are always willing and able to suggest a special restaurant or winery.

A new hotel in the beautiful town of Solvang

The Hadsten House is a nice luxury place to stay in the beautiful town of Solvang. The hotel is undergoing a major renovation that when done, will make it the finest place to stay in this cute Danish town. The rooms are pleasantly appointed in the french motif. An added bonus is the appointment of flat screen tv's, a fireplace and granite bathrooms. In addition, L'Occitane products are a very nice touch for the room. Can't wait to return when the remodel is complete.

Wonderful

This hotel is completly revamped. We stayed and loved it. As I read some of these reviews I notice they are very old. They made every effort to make sure we were happy and not bothered by the construction (which is almost done). Great place to stay really clean.
